Re: Controlling LED lighting with a USB-DMX interface (NOT Midi)

Can't say for sure, but I did stumble across this recently, looks pretty awesome, and definitely works with Live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=SQAQtS8zlIQ The box/software: http://www.enttec.com/index.php?main_menu=Products&pn=70570 Thanks for posting this! Re: Controlling LED lighting with a USB-DMX interface (NOT Midi)

I am interested in this as well. I have been looking around at various controllers and DMX interfaces to control a light rig from inside ableton, but all of the solutions i have found so far don't give very much information on their compatibility with other software. (Most specifically Max for Live)...

Re: Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 Problem

Im not sure i fully understand what you're asking, but i also have a Pro 40. To get cue working on you channels 5 and 3, you need to set the Saffire Mix Control outputs to: (DAW 5 --> OUTPUT 5) and (DAW 3 --> OUTPUT 3). The "DAW" option is the actual out coming from Ableton, but the Mix Control prog...

2 new (Electronic/Pop) tracks I produced

I've always felt weird about sharing my music on forums but i thought you guys may (or may not) like these 8):

https://soundcloud.com/philharmoniq/mil ... -slowriter

https://soundcloud.com/philharmoniq/mil ... metric-mix

And of course, I used Ableton Live to create these.

Re: grey and beige

You can change the theme if it doesn't suit you.

BTW, anyone know if the Live 8 theme is available in 9? I haven't upgraded yet (have to wait for my funds to be in order), but i have grown fond of the original color scheme and i agree with subliminal about everything being really gray.

Re: Has this happened too you?

I just scrapped a song I've been working on for a week and only kept the drums. Sometimes shit just doesn't work. I have completely scrapped songs that i have been working on for a few weeks and kept nothing. He's right. Sometimes it just doesn't work out the way you planned it. (and that's a...

Re: stereo / mono tracks

Ableton Live pretty much processes everything as stereo. For example: If you create an audio track and record from only 1 mono input, Live will record the information and store it as a mono audio file; but any effects or plugins that are added will behave as if it is a stereo track, Keep in mind tho...

Nope.
:(

How about switching the pad bank of the drum rack , eg first 16 samples, next etc ?
They have already stated that the touch strip will be dedicated to pitch bend and navigating through samples of a drum rack..

Re: Can someone help with a preset that eliminates vocals?

I would like to chime in and say, there are a few techniques to get vocals out of songs (or extract vocals from songs) that involve EQ, phase cancellation, stereo isolation, etc... but they only work well in very rare occasions. So unless you have been blessed with access to the stems of the song yo...

Re: any new faders from namm 13?

Dont know why no one has mentioned the Livid Base: http://lividinstruments.com/hardware_base.php It meets both qualifications of being at NAMM and having faders. (well kinda) It might not have physical faders, but it makes the hassle of having/not-having motorized faders nonexistent while making it ...

Re: Where to begin...

supamonsta gave sound advice, but for the sake of playing the devil's advocate: I went in the opposite direction. I feel like starting with production first, the quality of your productions will be pretty solid by the time you want to start looking into performing your music. From there you will hav...
