Just visiting after a post in the wallstreet powerbook thread. Coming from the lowend side, it's difficult to see how anyone would be struggling with a G5, let alone a dual G5. I suppose it's just a matter of what you get used to? I've always felt like limited resources were a good thing, often lead...

Oh, and make sure to turn everything off in the system that you don't need: -animate opening apps -dock effects -sound fx (alarms) -sleep -screen saver -close all background applications One of the better tips is to reduce colors to thousands. The wallstreet only had 4mb of vram. You'll also get a l...

I actually have Live lite 4.1.4 running on my old wallstreet 266 - up to a point. I'm happy to say that you can actually use 6 tracks (4 audio/2 midi in the lite version) IF you use the "ram" option for audio files and trigger short samples. VSTi's decrease the track count, some just won't run at al...

Looking more closely, some of the skins in version 5 DO have selected sections appear several shades lighter and match the general theme. It just so happens that some skins I like to use do not. I now think this is more like a bug/oversight and it will probably be worked out in a point release. It's...

I have the same situation with my mac mini. The firewire ports ALWAYS provide power to external devices, even when the mini is off. To avoid hotplugging, I have to make sure the powerbutton is off on the audiophile or unplug the mini's power cable. M-audio is officially adamant that this is Apple's ...

I'm glad if anyone can use any of them. I actually like about 5 well enough to use regularly. I figured it's better to post all of the variations that worked and let people decide for themselves. I've read it mentioned that one could use XML to write their own. I hope if anyone does, they will post ...

Here's a direct quote from Robert's monolake skins instructions: "How to install: 1. On MAC OS-X locate the Live 4 Applikation. 2. Select the Application in the Finder but do not start it. 3. Actions -> Show package content 4. Locate the skin folder: Live/Contents/App-Resources/Skins 5. Copy the mon...

Free Skins 10/1/05 pearsonart

Hi, These 26 skins were made by cross-referencing ask files from Ableton Live lite 4.1.4, the demo of 5 and an old demo of version 1.1. They look best in 4. You may download and distribute them for free from the following: www.pearsonart.com/skins.html All intellectual content is the property of Abl...
