Surface One Controller
Has anyone used this? http://www.midiman.net/products/midiman/surfaceone.php I'm assuming that the learning curve is much steeper than for other knob/slider based controllers, but I'm guessing that the control and power you could leverage with it would be better than anything else.. agreed
I completely agree.
I've started re-recording all of my loops with several bars of blank space for more control during live sets.
Although one cool thing is that by moving the repeat bar around, you can sometimes get nice little fills on drum loops.
It would be nice if that was automatable as well.

how to turn off bpm algorithm?
I want live to turn off its bpm guessing "warp" system, and simply cue the samples as they are. is this at all possible?

quattro
I've been using the M-Audio USB Quattro. 4 ins, 4 outs, all quarter inch. Midi In and Midi Out. It works really well, when it works. Occasionally I have problems with the damn thing uninstalling itself, but that seems to happen when I plug it into a different USB port than I usually use (???). Very ...

live crashes
To keep live from crashing on my machine: 1) Disable all irrelevant hardware - your network card in particular. 2) Close all servers, firewalls, and network related software. 3) If you're using windows, turn off the animation of all menus and interface elements. These tricks have always worked for m...

prelisten in the browser
To clarify: On the left hand side of the arranger interface, there is a list of files (the file 'browser'). You can click on the files in the list, and have the clip play BEFORE you ever put it into the arrangement. This functionality has stopped working for me. Are you saying that it never worked f...

Prelisten not working
Let me start by saying I love this fucking program, and the people behind it, and how they monitor this forum even though they say they don't ;). Live is the most amazing piece of software I've ever used. Been using it almost 1 year now. Unfortunately, I've been hit by a few bugs (oddly, only since ...
