No offense, really Chris - but you should browse through some of the older posts, mid to late 2003 I think was when the great midi debates were taking place. There's your proof. Very divisive issue it was, kind of like the gay marraige thing here in the states, threatened to tear us apart type deal...

asdf

I haven't listened to the files, but one big difference between render and record: with render, your computer is taking all processing offline and therefore has enough time to be more sample accurate. With record, Live is assuming you'd have used render if you had time for off-line processing, so in...

not stupid

I don't think it's a stupid question, I'm just not really qualified to answer. But I can tell you that people regularly get better results with Reason by mixing down in other programs (though there are plenty of people who will tell you to mix down your Live tracks in another program too). Resequenc...

free game

that's funny ikeaboy, I had the same thought. But I didn't feel like spending any money on a game. So check out america's army - it's free, developed by the US Army, and pretty fun (definitely great for a free game).

1. Is Korg Kontrol49 truly USB powered as advertised? 2. Are the Rubber Pads can be used beyond 16pads , means are there more banks to swetch to use them to trigger scenes to have like 64 Pads or even 128 Pads in Ableton Live.... instead of using keys? 3. Is it possible to use Kontrol49 to control ...

nice

that initial bassline is nice and thick... what synth did you use for it, out of curiousity? the stuttering effect at 1:07 is fantastic. You're either a master micro-editor or you've got the sidechaining solution everyone's looking for... the mid-bass that comes in at 1:30 is good, but I would add a...

other people have

the other answers are correct, but just to give a little background, this delay occurs because your computer needs time to process the audio - guitar>interface in>usb/firewire>CPU>usb/firewire>mixer/speakers. You will never get rid of the delay when playing live if you want the signal to go through ...

can already do this?

You can already do this. Use the dropdown "color" menu in the clip view. Nothing personal, but it bothers me when people who haven't explored the clip view start posting wishlist items. If you have some kind of hemispheric neglect and can't see your left visual field, ask the question first on the f...

if you have ableton WHY do you NEED a CD player? Yeah exactly. But i'm confused by this: Why don't you just manually beatmatch to Ableton's tempo? Unless you can get ableton to send midi clock successfully to these cd players, you're stuck with manual beatmatching. There's no way around this: You n...

the problem

there's lots you can do to emulate typical house dj techniques. Cuts & Splicing: set all the clips in a certain track to the same low volume, and assign a midi controller to slam the volume on all the clips in that track up and down. Backspin: starting with an original loop, set up a reverse clip of...
