I think the liveliness of this forum has to do with the fact that it's all one big "melting pot."
It keeps the thread turnover high, keeps things interesting, and avoids the problem of "abandoned" or empty subforums.
why mess with something that obviously works?

imagine speaking to an anxious, expectant crowd at a huge tradeshow in not your native tongue. speaking to a crowd is HARD. he did a great job. Ha, yeah. Now imagine having your own forum FULL of disappointment and outrage when they learn of your newest product. and these are presumambly your compa...

i read somewhere (maybe in its manual? lol) that you can set keys to send any given macro command N times per second. did i read correctly, and has anyone messed with that yet? I can just imagine all kinds of real-time stuttering if the command for key 01 is "track on - delay 1.2 sec - track of...

I'm not sure those of us who have commented so far really know what we're talking about. that's why I was looking for input from people with flight-paid gigs, etc. it's easy and natural for commercially unsuccessful artists to criticise mainstream- or even fringe-genre commercial success. but i don'...

point taken, but......
[haha, cognitive dissonance in action]
You have to strike a balance between what's in your soul and what's palatable for other people.... Or do you?
Maybe that's the real thrust of my question.
Thanks for your input.

style vs. success ?
3 questions for Live users with international distribution, flight-paid gigs, and/or album contracts. [if you're like me and have had several paid festival gigs, perhaps a compilation track or residency etc, just sit back and listen ;)] - Did you consciously attempt to strike a balance between your ...

i would actually prefer to keep the "post your music" threads in the main forum.
I think the fact that we have "one big melting pot" here is part of what makes this forum so special.
just my $.02.

The first comment mentioned "restraint" quite a few times - I agree, this is a good way of describing newstart and quarisa. I also agree that the way you're mixing "light and fluffy" with "dark and abstract" is not very successful in "weather" and "shigwo...

no, they're just regular old wavefiles - no proprietary encoding or anything like that. use them for whatever you like, in any program you like.

Re: [OT] Is USA and The World safer now due to Bush?
Bush isn't claiming the world is safer, per se. He is claiming that we are doing something about the threat, that terrorists are being hindered in their efforts and he's right. These terrorists and their support systems need to be utterly destroyed. I'll respectfully disagree: Bush has regularly sa...

IQ and reproductive behavior
That is one of my dilemas, my sense of patriotism and love of my country vs. (my wife and I plan to have kids one day and) do I want to raise children here? Yes, I know exactly what you are saying. Adding kids to the equation raises the stakes, however the answer is still the same. Look at the corr...
