Re: Multiple Faderfox

Re: long_name query

good luck and please let us know if you find something workable. Thanks. For my case, I think the solution might be to leave it as a disconnect between m4l and live and make a request for live that allows for the renaming of the std. midi cc messages in clip envelopes view: http://forum.ableton.com...

Typed Parameter naming for Envelopes

I would like to be able to name the MIDI CC (or potentially any; but CC would be essential) parameters for each envelope in a clip (via the standard "rename" functionality. I think this would be very useful in terms of saving a group of CC values that you would like to control your hardware with. Do...

No, we're not talking about the same thing.
I know that you can change these values via the inspector, but that's not my intention.
I wanted to change them from passing a max message to a max live.* object.

Re: long_name query

I think that if you give it a moment's thought, you might have no trouble imagining the possible trouble caused by modulatable parameters popping into and out of Live's innards in a running session. This is one of those cases where you're being protected from doing something potentially dumb or dam...

Re: long_name query

in fact, they aren't there at all. :)
i knew this; i guess i was just confused as to why we can't set this programatically.
seems like a useful feature.

Re: long_name query

right; i was asking if anyone knew of a way to program them outside of the manually-oriented inspector. i suspect that the answer is 'no', but i think this should be a feature, as sometimes you might want mapped modulation params to show up with custom names based on what is selected in your device....

long_name query

Hi there, I am trying to program a custom name for the long_name field, which is apparently what shows up in the modulation menu. I would like for it to be dynamic so that I don't have to set it once and wonder what the parameter represents once users have started using my device. I saw the annotati...

Mappable LFO

There was a recent thread in the forum that outlined the request for a "panning LFO". This is a very simplified idea- I think I would much rather an _actual_ universal LFO that could be applied to any master/return/audio/midi/instrument track which would look very much like any of the LFO elements i...

Re: contextual key command for solo/mute

i suppose it works to map keys 1-n to the keyboard...
but this won't work for selections of more than one track.

Re: MIDI Ctrl / clip CC data smoothing

... but on the other hand i think there are larger and more pertinent features i would want. i actually don't mind that live linearly smooths the automation recorded, and i think that you can get nicely close to what is needed with the current automation. what i WOULDN'T like is if ableton were to i...

contextual key command for solo/mute

i would love for there to be a key command for solo/mute that simply solos/mutes the track(s) that you have selected.
currently (afaik), you can only solo or mute a specific track with the key map mode.

anybody else?

Re: Universal LFO

+ 1. i disagree that the program has been made to "not handle LFOs correctly". it's just a matter of granularity. clearly it handles lfos within synths. something as basic as faking a midi map (internally) would be fine... then use lfo for the midi range. with a program that is capable of anything b...
