MIDI mapping transfer function feature

This is something that I would want particularly in effects racks for macros, but if it was implemented Live-wide that would be fine too. 1. click on a macro 2. click "map" 3. click on your parameter that you want to map ---> * a pop-up would come out asking you how you want to map this parameter, w...

Re: Key command for nudge?

i would think this would be possible, as there are many HW controllers of Live and one would assume nudging audio in the arrange window would be a priority for mouse-free control. what are other people's experience with this? i know that you can do the following with keys: click in the timeline hold...

Key command for nudge?

I am looking for a way to nudge an audio or midi clip in the arrange view. Is there such a feature? I have looked around a bit on the forum to no avail... I basically want to do the exact same thing as you can with notes in the piano roll editor, once you have them selected. IIRC, you just select th...

Re: do you know the instant map cc#'s for ableton?

along these lines,
i am wondering if there is a reference for what midi information all of the live instruments receive?
i would like to know what the midi specs are for these... i'm pretty sure that they are not just straight CC values; most likely all sysex.

thanks for any help,
jml

Re: Re:

Ah; OK. I read the fine print and this turns out to be more annoying than I had previously noticed. It will suffice as an alternative for 3x the clicking tho. I wonder if ableton plans on updating this feature... I suppose there could simply be a third option to select that reads something like "dis...

Re:

Is this still possible in Live 8? I tried it and the way that "distribute ranges equally" works seems to be different from what is displayed in the picture he's supplied. Thanks for any clarifications. jml here's the quickest way i've found of knocking up a your own multisample Sampler, with a sampl...

Re: improving a patch which fires quickly integers sequences

JS operates almost exclusively at a lower priority than the high-priority scheduler thread. JSUI is drawn at low priority only. You can push items into the high priority queue from JS if you use a Task() object. This is the only option that I know of. I would not recommend using Task objects for you...

Re: improving a patch which fires quickly integers sequences

FWIW, pushing somthing like this into JS will _not_ optimize in any way.
The only advantage is that it might feel more clean, but it will not offer you any significant performance improvement.

Re: improving a patch which fires quickly integers sequences

do you need to always change the value of the incoming number?
if not, just use an initialization as such and store it for recall (bang it out from a list or coll).

other than that, i have no idea what you are attempting to do with this, so i can't be of more assistance.

Re: Open-Up Python API

does this mean that the 'experts' are still actively pursuing a way to utilize py in live, or no?

Re: Any CM Labs MotorMix users out there?

Hi Nick,

I am wondering if you've made any progress on this.
I also have a MM and I would like to start using it with Live.
I guess I can just use the objects made by DG, but also curious about the py-layer in abez.

Where can I find information on utilizing python in Live?

Thanks,
jml

Re: m4l.api.selectdevice weirdness

There is a loadbang inside of M4L.SaveInteger, but that shouldn't repopulate the umenu.
I'm not quite sure what is going on there...
But I'll just make my own abstraction based on this to avoid the confusion.

Thanks,

m4l.api.selectdevice weirdness

this abstraction is surely useful, but i don't quite understand why the umenu object is always full of duplicate items. to reproduce: 0. create an amxd file w/ the abstraction and a loadbang 1. connect a loadbang to the abstraction 2. save amxd 3. many times, on my machine at least, i get 3 distinct...
