Re: Akai MPD and MPK pad mods - tips for better pad sensitivity

Ok, I just finished using this method to mod one of my mpd 32 units. Without a doubt, it's worth taking the time to do this!

Much respect for starting this thread and posting that video, brotha!

I would, however, like to get my hands on the CM Ableton special that came out recently. and I would like to get my hands on the CM DJ special, does anyone ...

As soon as you get that video up and I can see what it is I have to do, I'm hooking up all 4 of my Akai units (2 mpd 32s, 1 mpd 24, and an mpk 49)! Thanks for posting!

Re: video:Jazzy Jeff talks about using Ableton Live

It's on the homepage now. What's funny about this video is the fact that he seems to only work in the Arrangement View. Also, when I warp tracks and take the parts I want, I usually like to use the slice function and make it a drum rack, but to each his own. JJ is mos def the man, but you're right ...

Re: OT: Mos Def

Ok, finally copped it and have listened to it all the way through a couple three times.

I'm a big Mos Def fan, and am happy to see/hear him come like this. Very, very nice work, imo!!

Re: New MacBook, missing firewire... go white or pro?

The new line of mac lappies do still have firewire, but it's a firewire 800 port only. You can get a FW 800 to FW 400 cable and totally run various brands of FW interfaces with it—bus power and all. Not the MacBooks, bro, not the MacBooks. Only the Pros. Sparklepuff, thanks for setting me straight,...

I wanted to plug Nick The Zombie's website: http://nickstutorials.com/ He has some AMAZING video tutorials that show you some great sound design possibilities for Live from basic waveform generation/sampling. The techniques lead to abstract sounds and insane sonic output. And the beauty of it is th...

I purchased the vids, and they're SWEET! Having released two albums using mainly Live; having been hired by Ableton in the past for the NAMM show, and also as the voice over guy for the version 7 tutorial videos, I consider myself to be somewhat of a power user of Live. But as we all know, part of t...
