Need some serious advice, possible move from powerbook to PC

So as much as I love my mac powerbook (except for the slowness), I'm really starting to want power, and I've been considering moving over to a new centrino laptop. But now there are so many new developments, I'm going cross-eyed. Here's the nits and grits: originally, I had a mac because of logic, n...

Ya I posted about this synth a while back, I'm quite impressed. I like that the filters sound like albino's, nice and creamy, but the synth is way more interesting with the fm and spectral capabilities. I almost bought it, but having recently bought N.I. Komplete, I feel I've got more than enough to...

ya dude, we'll have a toast over the forum when we get them. I'll race you to it!

I think Ableton Live automap will be along very shortly. They've already done Logic, Cubase and reason before it's shipped. Live must be next.

cheers,

As someone who started one of those controller threads, I'll say that for my part, I'm just incredibly stoked about Novation's new one, the remote 25 SL. I truly cannot wait to get one. Having LCD labels will allow for more complicated knob setups, and even having many banks you won't lose track of ...

Is anywhere on-line shipping the novation 25 SL yet?

I've searched around, and most things I come up with on-line say Novation's new remote 25 SL ships in January, but I've also heard it's available in Europe. I'm dying to get this thing, but I live over in Vancouver, Canada. Music shops here say it'll be another month or two at least. Anyone know if ...

hehe, nothin' like the Ableton forum to smack you upside the head when your post is vague. Ya, I guess that was somewhat lazy. But I guess the reason is that I can't remember the exact instances, because I don't open live all that often, as I said, I'm still using logic. It's usually to play around ...

try using control driven envelopes. they get assigned to a cc number, then maybe you can automate that way,(if live lets you automate a cc number). there's no midi learn, but there's way more mdi control possiblities than at first apparent in absynth, I'm just not that familiar with live's automatio...

N.I. + Live 5 = too many crashes?

Although I own Live, I still tend to use Logic most, as it's more familiar, but eventually I intend on switching over fully. I feel like just about every time I use my N.I. plug-ins, Live crashes at some point. Things seem more stable in logic. Anyone else finding this. Is it live's fault or N.I.'s?...

hey man, if it came on in a club, I'd certainly dance. The only thing I don't like, is the crash cymbal. I don't know why, maybe I've heard that sample too much, ,maybe it sticks out. I'd try other real cymbal samples, softer ones. A lead line would work well over it as well. And a few snare rolls o...

OT: NI Komplete 3 user upgrade for sale

Long story, but I've basically ended up with Komplete 3 twice. As a result, I am selling the Komplete 3 four product user upgrade, brand new, in the box, never opened. The price on the website is 689 US$ I think, so I'll sell for a couple hundred less, ie. 500 or so, free shipping. In order to use t...

dude, I'm by no means an expert, but i've got reason and reaktor, and if you think reason is anywhere near as deep as reaktor, I would suggest digging into reaktor a bit. I don't make ensembles, but still, reaktor can do anything, and you just need the power. It can sound like hardware. reason can't...

Re: just got g4 15"

compared to windows it lookes more high level'ish /// likee reason compared to reaktor or something. but its really simplistic and i like it. havent tryed out with live yet tho. Sorry, I just had to ask. It sounds like you mean reason is more 'high level'ish' than reaktor. That's not what you mean ...

Hi, I use a 1.67ghz powerbook, and the only way I would suggest that you buy one, is if you don't like configuring computers for music, and you plan on using reason as your main source of softsynths with Live. Reason hardly uses any cpu, so I would get a mac in this case personally because I find OS...

that reading was done just with built-in sound, but it's always the same with my presonus firebox. I think you're processor sounds ok because your ableton test was the same as mine. I'll bet it's a reaktor thing. I'd try over at the reaktor forum if I were you. They'd probably sort you out even if i...
