Re: Help with Advanced MIDI Triggering

I'm not too sure but I think I understand your idea: a somewhat "dymamic" MIDI mapping. So one pad triggers a certain function but the moment another part of your material is playing then it should trigger something else? This should be doable, but not with vanilla Live. You'll need Max for Live to ...

Re: Classic Synths preset comes without Templates??

You can come close. If you can get the audio into Live you should be able to extract it to MIDI (harmony, melody or drums). It might not get you the full chords but you should come very close.

Re: Hotkey for dragging from session to arrangement not working?

Where did you read about that hotkey? I'm not familiar with it myself, but then again I also don't do much dragging. I am aware of control which turns off the snap, but that's about it. The other way around does somewhat work: if you have several clips in your arrangement and drag those into session...

Re: Sampler it,s broke with 9.5.Root note bad asigned.

I don't quite understand the issue. If you slice an audio file you'll end up with Simpler, not Sampler. The slice(s) will be spread out across a drumrack where the first pad sits on C1, so obviously that's the first note it'll respond to. That has been the case even back in Live 8. So I don't see wh...

Re: Simpler Sound Quality

Actually you're wrong; in my test setup the two fully cancel each other out. Whether I set the utility on the audio track or behind the Simpler. And I also think to know where you're going wrong: Simpler effects. You need to turn everything off, and also: Simpler will play the audio at -12dB by defa...

Re: Confused

Is there anyone who can help me understand Max for live or any video tutorials. Put simple: Max (for Live) is a visual programming environment which allows you to create instruments and effects which can then all be used within Max for Live. I think the original introduction video gives a very good...

Re: How do you delete factory preset?

What "obvious reasons"? First of all using other presets which depend on the Core library. As its name more or less implies this library sits at the core of your setup, so its not uncommon for sound designers to assume that this is always present. Why not delete factory content which you have no in...

Re: a little advice for my Tempo-Nutcher please?

My problem is the little massage-box that gets the actual tempo doesn't sent it's value after I use it for feeding back my multipliy-operation. What is the proper way to do it? Now this is why I don't use pre-made stuff but roll my own :) Solution is to use the next outlet (the one to the right). T...

Re: Push support in Rewire mode

I sincerely doubt this is ever going to happen because it goes right against the way this whole thing works. Push sends MIDI signals to Live which Live then picks up to 'do' stuff. But if you have Live rewired into another DAW that other DAW is now in control over the incoming MIDI, which includes c...

Re: APC 40 MKI Knobs Jitter and Throw is too long after update

The APC40 MK1 Track and Device Knobs take forever to turn a full rotation and jitter terribly after the 9.5. I can confirm this somewhat. I compared current behavior with Live 8 and the knobs are definitely less responsive (take longer to rotate) and if you move them more quickly they jitter a bit....

Re: synth or midi keyboard controller advise

If you want a synth to add more sound (do note that there's already a massive sound collection in your Suite) then my advice would be to go broad. A synth which isn't targeting one specific area and can be generally used. The Mini Nova would be excellent for that. Still, another thing to consider: p...

Re: Max for Live Essentials - Live Sets

i've been looking around for the live sets embedded in the new Max for Live Essentials upgrade, but without any luck. Can anybody tell me where to find them? The new Live 9 browser can really excel with this. Just go to the 'Packs place' (the first option in the 'Places' section of the browser), fi...

Re: Can you group 2 'multi' pads?

When you say 'pull in the audio', are you dragging the pad to a new MIDI track? I'm not seeing how you can drag audio from a drum rack to a blank audio track, what am I missing here? Yeah, I can see how that might be a little vague, sorry about that. I'm referring to the I/O section. control-alt-i ...
