Re: Choosing Macbook Pro i5 i7 core and speed specs.

Kind of on topic and to avoid starting a new thread and because I'm going to be buying one of these in the next couple weeks. What's better here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC510LL/A?mco=MTkwMzU2MjE http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB953LL/A?mco=MTU3ODQ4Mjg One has a 3.2 GHz i3 processor the...

Re: Choosing Macbook Pro i5 i7 core and speed specs.

I'd like to take the plunge and switch over to a mac, but there a little to much for me. I remember someone posting a link to a reseller, 2nd hand, re certified, something like that, dunno. Anyone remember what that site was ? Don't know about that seller but every Mac I've bought has been from the ...

Re: Music Production Beginner Seeking Help From Experienced Pros

Greetings Ableton Community! I am a broke college student with a passion for music and my ultimate dream would be to someday have a job creating music and having people all over the world hear my sound (don't we all?). I recently decided to write to someone that runs a music production blog/website...

Getting a new computer, reinstall questions.

Alright. In the next couple weeks, I'm going to get rid of my Macbook and get an iMac. Just wondering what I should know as far as reinstalling all my stuff goes. I'm sure I'll be fine but I don't want to not think about something and end up screwing something up in the process. Following are some q...

Re: What to spend my NI Komplete 7 coupon on?

I got Deep Reconstructions. I can basically offer no constructive review of it at this point except to say that in the week or so that I've had it, I've probably wasted(?) a good 5 hours running random drum loops through the effects and tweaking/resampling...and having a blast in the process. Glad ...

Re: What to spend my NI Komplete 7 coupon on?

I just got my Komplete 7 upgrade today. It somes with a $60 coupon to use on another of their VSTs. Here are the ones I'm considering: Deep Transformations (Multi-FX Unit) Deep Reconstructions (Multi-FX Unit) Deep Freq (Multi-FX Unit) Has anyone used any of these?? I'm especially curious if anyone ...

Re: Does Garage Band still have a perpose if I own live8

My friend made a record in GarageBand that sounds awesome.

http://westernstandards.blogspot.com/

He had it professionally mastered, but aside from guitar all the sounds were from GarageBand too.

Re: Does Garage Band still have a perpose if I own live8

It's a little late for most of us but perhaps the progression should be as follows. 1. GarageBand for learning basic chops and recording 2. Logic Express for deeper learning and options 3. Logic Pro when you REALLY need to get deep 4. Live to turn your recorded tracks into performable pieces but ev...

Re: Question about clip length.

When you click the record button in a clip, it starts recording, and keeps recording until you stop it by asking the clip to do something else. When you double-click in an empty clip slot, without clicking the record button, it creates an empty clip that is 1 bar long. Ah ha! I knew it had to be a ...

Question about clip length.

This is a very stupid/basic question. I know this. But I can't seem to figure out the solution (which I know is in front of my nose or on page 1 of the manual or something). Anyway. This only happens sometimes and I can't figure that out either but here's an example. Tonight, I'm messing around in s...

Re: editting audio clips / samples

I use Peak LE. It's $100 but worth it in my opinion. But as jessemiller said, Audacity would probably do the job and it's free. I would probably be using Audacity if I hadn't bought Peak before someone recommended it.

Re: would you release on, or buy a cassette tape?

I hope this catches on and makes some of this recent vinyl hype go away.

I'm sick of the sudden demand for records by kids who don't own a turntable (those USB ones they sell at Hot Topic don't count) making me have to pay $30 for a record that used to cost $12.

Re: Do you want the CHANGELOG published with each update ?

I'd say it's the latter. Nah, you're WAY off. I don't give a shit about any of you lot. No, you're right. And good point in re: I don't have to read it if I don't care. At the end of the day, I think the main reason I don't care is from what I gather, I'm one of the lucky ones who's had relat...
