Re: Keyboard shortcut question.
the different browsers are menu items, meaning you can assign hotkeys to them using different utilities like iKey or just plain OSX. Win maybe "autohot key"? i use option 1,2,3,4,5 to get through all my browsers. Once you hit the hot key, use the down arrow key to get it "in focus". If it was the l...

Re: Keyboard shortcut question.
Thanks for the alt + arrow tip. That's exactly what I was looking for.
I've tried a million different combinations of arrows, numbers, alt/apple/shift/etc. to flip through the browser sections. Nothing...

Re: Keyboard shortcut question.
I ran into a similar problem when I was trying to recreate Patch's DJ template on OSX. My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I think you can move the focus to the browser with the shift + arrow key, but it depends on where your cursor is relative to the browser. IOW, if your on track 1, shift + left will j...

Re: Keyboard shortcut question.
Cool. I'll keep my eyes open and check out the feature request forum.
I just started using Live 3 months ago and still feel like an idiot 90% of the time so what you just said about me knowing stuff was a huge compliment.
Just sayin'.

Keyboard shortcut question.
I'm trying to set up the buttons and knob on my NI Audio Kontrol 1 to control Live's browser. I've got it right now so the knob will scroll through the folders and files, I've got two buttons set up to essentially act as the left and right keyboard arrows for opening and closing folders, and I've go...

...a controller that is like an MPD32 except that it has 16 APC40-style rotary encoders with LED surrounds instead of the existing encoders and knobs. The point is that one of those plus an APC20 would give you capabilities similar to an APC40 plus 16 pads. The existing MPD32 plus an APC40 would gi...

Re: Revisiting Krautrock
Just got this from Netflix: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt1289806/ Highly recommended. It's 3-ish hours of Krautrock history. The title is a bit misleading...it's a good hour into the film before they even really start talking about Kraftwerk. Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCg7hPeUdvE&feature=re...

Moving Kontakt/Battery Libraries to External HD?
I realize this question is more NI related but A)I'm trying to make room for Session Drums and B)I posted it on NI's forum but you guys seem to answer questions faster over here. I'm running: MacBook Pro 2.26GHz, 160GB HD, 4GB RAM Suite 8, NI Komplete, some other stuff. My internal HD only has 35GBs...

Re: Minimoog Voyager Old School
This is a good, and much cheaper, place to start. http://www.vintagesynth.com/moog/mg1.php And it's technically a Moog. I have one and it's awesome. I'd be lying if I said I knew my way all the way around it (in re: "thinking of a sound in my head" and being able to immediately dial it up) but I lea...

Re: Questions about Live Pack downloads/Session Drums.
Thanks for your response Martin. I think I realized last night that I might not have to do any of this. As I said before, I would be upgrading to the Suite. I already have the Live box version (with EIC installed). When you click on the Suite Upgrade for more info on Ableton's site it says the downl...

Re: Questions about Live Pack downloads/Session Drums.
Oh, ok. That makes sense. Like I said, I've only been using Live for a little over a month. Everything has gone so smoothly so far that I'm just a little afraid to rock the boat.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: Audio Interface Recommendation
Hey guys! First post here and new Ableton user... I've done some research on the site for recommendations for interfaces, so I thought I'd make one specific to my setup and price point. Setup: 13" Macbook Pro 2.53ghz 4gb Shure SM58 Mic M-Audio Axiom 49 Price: up to $300 I have the latest 13" Macboo...
