@chap:

i really like what you do, not saying you can't do great stuff with just live. it's just that i tend to use live when i know almost exactly what i'm doing upfront and in what order; i use mobius or maybe pedals when i want the flexibility to truly wing it.

traditional sound on sound does let you have loops of different lengths, so long as they're getting longer (via something like multiply, whereby you extend the loop out while you play over it). and something like mobius lets you do it because you have 8 indy tracks that can have loops of different l...

it might earn you money, but not much. even people i know with multi-platinum albums didn't make much (because of the way industry is structured). so you may make enough to get by pretty well, while living the life you want, but you're unlikely to touch what a decent dentist takes home.

i don't want to access each overdub separately, instead i want to be able to manipulate them all at the same time (which is what sound on sound gives you, live doesn't). live as a live multitracker doesn't do me much good. (there have to be weird technical hurdles here i don't get, because even the ...

reaktor is the bomb, love the synths (and drums and samplers and fx). i got tired of mousing, so i use a monomachine alot now, but think reaktor's a better buy than any HW of equivalent price. which reminds me, i have to try to new reaktor synth they just released.

assuming we ever had the plot, it's improving, right? i mean, think how much better the response is than if obama had run 40-50 years ago. i sometimes find it hard to believe how recently segregation was legal. to go from apartheid in the south to obama winning the presidency, including the votes of...

can't resist letting dave smith have (hopefully) the last word: The voice architecture is identical to a single voice of the Prophet '08, but with a couple of unique twists to distinguish it from its award-winning sibling. We have added two sub-octave generators—one per oscillator—for additional gir...

i know, don't you love these little pointless spats that arise in threads (particuarly where they have nothing really to do with the thread topic)? the funny thing is, both sides have to be enjoying it on some level or they wouldn't engage (both sides also, almost by definition, have to have too muc...
