Re: 8 channel project, Max-arduino- Sparkfun RGB LED code etc

Thanks! Hahah, yeah, in retrospect using plexiglass would have been a very small percentage of our final cost. But 7.5x120ft definitely is prohibitively expensive. And heavy! What would an inner sheet do for you? Is the single sheet too transparent? Are you a student at a Master's in art/video/commu...

Re: 8 channel project, Max-arduino- Sparkfun RGB LED code etc

I like your work. We had considered using vellum over a matrix of cells for our interactive LED board we took to Burning Man; video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu5ORo3Im1g I think we ultimately determined that vellum might not make it out in the desert, and translucent white plexiglass woul...

Re: Poll: Upgrade to Live 8 Suite or Max For Live...

personnally, since racks exist, I'm using them with the chain selector to change (swap.. indeed!) my preset. I agree, it IS a workaround, because in that case, if you want to have 15 presets of operator changing automatically with clips for instance, it would involve 15 operator(s) with 1 preset in...

Re: Great ! LIVE looses undo history when saving ! Lost my work

Saving collapses the undo history into the saved file. Most applications do this. Why did you save something you didn't want to save?

Re: Will drum lessons help improve beat making skills?

For drums it probably wont make much difference at all to how you programme the main beat, but might make a huge difference to how you programme in all those ghost hits etc that give a beat some richness and make it flow nicely and give you an appreciation of the world of difference between a snare...

Duuuude. That was awesome! Huge Dylan fan, and your remix was dead-on with the spirit of the song.

Re: Ableton vs Maschine=10 songs in 10 days

nepotist, I've been listening to your album all day at work. It's totally awesome. Good job! Keep it up!

I wish I could point out one or two tracks I liked, but I think it's so coherent as an _album_ that I'll just have to leave it at liking the whole thing, as a whole.

Re: Like an SP-404 or SP-555 but more flexibility? Maschine?

This is exactly where Maschine shines actually. It does fill that Niche just like the easily accessible hardware samplers. I find my self in the same position jamming with people where everyone likes to play with everything. With Live, drum racks or other plug-ins, it's not so straight forward to q...

... To be honest, the ability to click one thing and reverse a sample is not worth several hundred dollars+learning curve to me. ... Dude I hear ya, and I struggled with that too. And also with whether it's just a "grass is greener"/gearlust sort of thing. And I went through my list of what I was t...

Re: Like an SP-404 or SP-555 but more flexibility? Maschine?

Every time I think about buying Maschine, I realize that I could just spend an afternoon mapping stuff in Ableton and have the same result. IMHO. Suuure, except I've done that many times, even coming up with plans of goals and what I need and don't need. But then ultimately, some percent into it I ...

Like an SP-404 or SP-555 but more flexibility? Maschine?

Folks, I've got Live Suite 8 and an SP-404 and SP-555. I like how spontaneously I can compose with the 404 and 555, but getting samples onto them is a HUGE pain. And sequencing can also be a little annoying. The lack of undo is also annoying. I like how Live is basically infinitely flexible, great f...

Good Multi-FX setup controllable via MIDI CC?

Hey Folks, I've been using Ableton Live since 1.0 (or was it 1.5), but I always feel like every time I come here I find a new way to do something or that something I thought was impossible is in fact quite possible. I'm using Live 8 Suite currently. Sometimes part of my creative process is just tryi...

Re: M4L Presets are broken ?

I was having this problem. I tried repairing the Live Library, Preferences>Library>Repair Library, which takes forever. That didn't work, so I updated to 8.1.3 and repaired the library again. That fixed them.

Good luck.

Check out TweakHeadz guides. Here's one on vocal recording:
http://tweakheadz.com/how_to_record_vocals.htm

There are more, and many of them are quite useful.

Try changing the Min and Max values in the MIDI Mappings browser. That might work for you.
