If there was nothing under 50/60 hz, i definately wouldn't even buy them! Fortunately there is. Most smoothly roll-off around 45 and there is still "enough" all the way down to 20. Here is an rms graph from a "nice" beatport sourced mp3 that I have converted to wav for use with live. http://www.blas...

Does he mean the general sonic quality though apart from just volume? Exactly what I mean, no real volume problems, more abstract qualities like "warmth" and "richness" So far, I'd say the wav masters (pre-vinyl press stage) that the labels usually provide to digital music stores are punchier aroun...

Does he mean the general sonic quality though apart from just volume? Once you're using +4dbu pro equipment, the output potential difference between other +4dbu gear is slight, if at all. I'm running my live output around -10 / -12 peak dbfs to make sure I don't clip anything, but my motu mains out ...

Have you listened carefully to wavs of tracks and compared them to vinyls of the same track? I find the difference is noticeable. I don't believe you'll be able to avoid the fact that the digitally sourced material you play will be invariably different to the vinyl dj before hand. As long as they bo...

 I would appreiciate any serious input regardiing the above question from normal people. Message board geeks need not reply. Just for future reference, could you define a message board geek? I would have thought that one would be the ones who are actively on the forum taking part (myself inc...

I am absolutely loving this so far! Top material and I like your transitions too. :)

I'm generally aching for more bottom end though!

Do you have any videos of this event?

I would really choose this option if you were allowed to download the mp3's while waiting for the wav cd to arrive. I mean, you have already bought the track. Although, technically, it's been bought in a specific format... but so what?

Sorry Adam, I didn't completely answer your question... I haven't tried using my laptops inbuilt sounds as I guess that it's not really designed for this kind of thing. I would actually like to upgrade to a PCMCIA card rather than the bulky fw410 as I don't use the external outputs much anymore. Ca...

if i ran two eq4's as steep low pass filters in serial (ie one after another..) and controlled the frequency on both with one knob does that make it a 24db resonant filter? would 4 in a row be a 48db filter? would 8 be (other than insane) a 96db filter? hmmmm.... low pass or do you mean low shelf? ...

Hey there, how are ya? I didn't have time to listen all the way through, but sounded good in the start. I would have like to hear quicker mixing in of the next track and more teases of it earlier on. Secondly, the sound is sounding very compressed, having you got a limiter/compressor running on the ...

Hey there, I did a quick description of how to sync between two laptops here. http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30626 The original question was how to do this via networking, but the mini walkthrough is relevant to this too. I'd go with the usb-> midi option. Midi over usb is pretty stabl...
