Re: Live 10 upgrade path

I'm detecting a somewhat patronizing tone in your response. Hopefully I am wrong on that? Just following your lead, friend. To clarify.....the starting point was/is Live 9 intro. The middle ground is Live 9 Suite. The end point is Live 10 Suite As an existing customer I may complete a two stage two ...

Re: Suite or Standard + 3rd Party

Surely those previews are only available on factory content, and not on OUR OWN content. I've never heard an audio preview because I dont use stock Ableton presets. So for me that is not an advantage over VSTs, as the feature currently stands. That's correct, factory content only, and as far as I k...

Re: Suite or Standard + 3rd Party

Another option to consider is if you're going to use Push eventually or not. There's a lot of deeper integration with the Suite effects and instruments than with 3rd party options. I think you should open a separate discussion on that. I haven't noticed this "deeper integration". Feels more or less...

Re: Suite or Standard + 3rd Party

I feel the same as Stromkraft. It depends on your taste and what you want to do, but if you don't already have a lot of 3rd party stuff then Suite offers a lot of options and material, and Max For Live really adds a ton of value and utility. If you're going to go the other route you can buy Max For ...

Re: Multitrack recording with mixer and Ableton

I'll probably settle for the 1220i as it's more than enough channels for now. I like that you can record individual channels and decide if the channels are sent pre or post EQ/insert, I guess pre-fader will work for now. The Mackie is just 1 USB channel right? Have you checked out the Soundcraft Si...

Re: Installing on an external drive?

You should be able to install Live by itself, without any of the libraries, then just set your user library and installation location for packs to your external drive. Right? Am I missing something? I just upgraded to suite from standard a couple days ago. After I installed suite I had to come back ...

Re: Traditional Black Friday Found Deals Post

Someone posted this one on GearSlutz - 30% off at Unique Squared with code: YUGE30 https://www.uniquesquared.com/ That works out to some really nice deals. Moog Mother 32 for $420, Volcas for $111.00, Microbrute for $209... Seriously thinking about getting a Microbrute or a Volca Kick... or the Soun...

Re: Save 50% on Presonus and 20% on Ableton products.

Lots of great deals to be had. Great deals on Soundtoys stuff right now. Echoboy for $99, or the whole Soundtoys 5 collection for $249. I have three of their free plugins, for whatever reason that qualifies me for $195 for the whole collection, which is really tempting. Eventide has some great deals...

Re: Just bought my Ableton Live 9 Suite!

I went with IDK F*Ck you because it was hilarious and awesome and made me laugh. I'd reinstall and start fresh. Get rid of any potential sources for additional bugs and problems. If you do run into problems it'll be hard to realistically expect support to help you if you're running an app that's bee...

Huh, I didn't even realize you could use the Push 2 without the power adapter.

Re: Reaktor Sequencer as MIDI source for other instruments

Did you get this sorted? If it helps here's some screen shots of what's working for me. As mentioned, you have to use one of the VST's, the AU's don't send midi out of Reaktor. I've used Spiral as an effect, directly in-chain with an instrument, but I usually just drop it on its own track and route ...

Re: Just getting started! New toys?

I have Push 1, I bought for around $300 on eBay. It is one of the best gear purchases I've ever made. Provided the seller is on the up and you can verify there will be no problem transferring the Suite license to your account then that's a steal. I think Push 1 will be plenty to get you up and runni...
