Machinete, I'm not a retard, just a perfectionist.

This guy seems to have it sounding fine.

Funny, he is doing it exactly like I did. Maybe there's not a problem with Live. Maybe my playing is the problem.

Agreed with Machinate. It's critical for us to hear what you hear, so create a new track and use Resample as your input and record your guitar sound. The recorded file can be then compressed to MP3 using a variety of tools, and then posted to us. Maybe this will be easier if you can tell me how you...

Given the number of back and forth on this thread, it might it be useful if CloudyJim would provide an audio sample of the guitar lick (so we can hear the problem) as well as a screenshot of the recorded clip warped the way you have it warped. As you can see, there's lots of people eager to help :)...

Machinete, I am in the session view. I have recorded the clip in the session view and ctrl+4 does nothing.

Nubelae, thanks again. Please see this thread:

Maybe you can get what I am trying to accomplish(without needing to warp).

"Damn! Pre-roll! Next it'll be Sharpies and masking tape!" What does that mean? EDIT: I just read what a pre-roll is. I really must not have explained my self well. If I record this line. DOOM CHUKAH CHUKAH DOOM CHUKAH CHUKAH DOOM CHUKAH CHUKAH DOOM CHUKAH CHUKAH DOOM CHUKAH CHUKAH DOOM CHUKAH CHUKA...

the part I have isolated is probably 10 beats after pressing record.

The "OM CHUKAH CHUKAH CHUKAH CHUKAH DO" is somewhere in the middle of the actual recording. I simply cannot move it two spaces to the right to get "DOOM" to appear just after a grid point.

honestly, i would like to avoid the warping altogether, it doesn't seem necessary for looping. I play well enough to match the click track......but that is exactly the problem. Let's say I am playing a 'cowboy' crosspicking rhythm on acoustic guitar. It sounds like this. "DOOM CHUKAH CHUKAH CHUKAH C...

I tried several. the complex seemed to act like a compressor in smoothing out the tone. i think what I need here is smaller subdivisions of each beat/measure. Can I get 1.4.5?

Uhh, there are some problems here.....

I recorded a clip(acoustic guitar picking/strumming) from the session view and double clicked it to get the loop boundaries set. I recorded the track with the metronome so everything seemed to be aligned. Of course, I cut the first and last notes in half when I moved the loop boundaries over them. I...

I got a couple of hours to try out Live today. I went through the tutorials in Lite 4, but it won't let me move clips in the arrange view. So, I downloaded the Live 5 demo and went at it again. It's impressive. However, there were a couple of concerns, that will probably amount to nothing once I can...

Nebulae, Thank you, that was very informative. At this point I have committed myself to giving Ableton a shot, at least as a sketchpad. It seems like a good way to compose. The real test will be whether or not I can get the end result to sound linear instead of looped(even though loops will be used)...

nosuch, take it easy. I buy my goods, I don't use cracks. If I have the 4-track Lite version(which I bought, with my emu 1616), I can finish a small piece and burn it to a cd and actually hear the final product. That way, I can also evaluate the conversion to mp3, which Sonar seems to **** up every ...

Ok, the "live set" can't be saved. But if i use if for multitracking, I can save the final product? Please forgive the multitude of questions, but i wouldn't want to go through hours of learning something only to find out that I can't export the audio or something like that. EDIT: From the ableton F...

Ok, what are the limitations of the demo of Live 5? I don't even know what the limitations to Live Lite 4 are besides the audio track count.
