Why buy a Mac if you're using WinXP exclusively? Part of the price you pay for a Mac is for the excellent operating system. OS X is known to be great for audio, why not use it? Because my macbook pro runs ableton live, and serato scratch live with less latency and more stability in XP than OSX. I p...

hey scott, did you sort it out? I've just upgraded my macbook pro (from an original core duo) and the XP driver for the sound card has changed to a realtek high definition audio codec. My old macbook pro (with a sigmatel audio driver) could comfortably handle 64 samples in XP but bow I cannot get le...

I, for one, did pay for a second serial for my Macbook Pro when 5.2 came around.

I would therefore also appreciate some assurance that this has been deducted from the price of my upgrade to Live 6? My upgrade page (when logged in) reads - 170 US with manual and 70 US on download.

cheers

Not sure what the button is (i'm away from my korg) but it is the top left setting button (either setting or scene - you'll know you have the right one because pressing this button actually displays 'Tempo 120" on the korg display - default is pitch). When holding this key, turn the tempo knob (ensu...

After carefull consideration I just tried this fix and my 2G Macbook is now a silent speed freek. I'm now getting a max of 28% running the Live 5 performance test (down from 38% before the fix). The Best news is that the whine seems permenantly gone. It does seem to take a lot longer to boot but it'...

This tool rocks - I just managed to squeeze an average 8 % off my live performance meter (as per performance test). Most importantly - Live used to spike around 70% in the test but now sits happily around 44 %.

Nice work.

Another Yes

It would even be great to have a more comprehensive 'live' folder in the librarian software provided with the korg - this would eleviate many of my frustrations. It does come with a free lite copy of live 4 after all.

Could you elaborate on the "works fine." Midiover lan is just giving me grief. I've set one computer to "midi in" (in midi over lan window) on one computer which then shows as a new "midi in" device in live. The other is set to "midi out" and shows as a new "midi out" device in live. Clicking on 'ex...

Any idea how/where to get more ableton preset settings for the Librarian program? The prestet setting for Q-base and Reason are quite comprehensive but those for live are pretty basic. I found this to be a bit strange considering that the korg actually comes with a free version of live 4 and not q-b...

In the Librarian software that came with the microKontrol (avail korg.com) you need to send the pre-set setting for Live to the Kontrol pad. On the Korg, you then select this setting so that "Live" appears on the korg display. There were 3 different pre-set settings for live in the Librarian softwar...

Rendering to disk - "a serious problem has occurred"

I've poured a lot of love into a tune that won't render to disk. Everything else in live renders fine. When I go to render this file to disk I get the error: A serious problem has occurred. You should try saving your work under a different file name using the Save As command in the File menu and res...
