Also if your left and right channel signals are out of phase you can get 'perceived' phase cancellation, which can take away from the clarity and make your mix sound muddy. Isn't live's reverb simply supposed to mimic the functions of a common hardware reverb? I've never really used a hardware reverb, so I'm not sure what they sound like next to each other. But I agree that it sounds kind of odd.
