I use a combination of timemachine and superduper..

Superduper gives me a bootable backup. which I keep at work and update every 6 months, and time machine keeps everything in sync.

I have done a full restore using both superduper and timemachine without problems..

Axon is certainly the coolest thing they've come out with. I'm enjoying it a lot... it's great for Eno style ambient stuff too. It takes a little while to get used to, but it certainly is a fresh, new idea. Kind of reminds me of Synplant - one of those quirky little devices that just inspires you. ...

Freeze groups / tracks which receive audio from other tracks.

I quite often do processing on groups of tracks and when I start to max out my CPU it would be nice to be able to freeze the group

you could try extracting the groove (which produces a midi file) and then drop that midi file on to a new track containing the samples you want to use...

I havent tried this on a full length track, so not sure how successful it would be.

thanks, sorry for a noob question - how to use external instrument ?:))) yes, i do not have a multipe input audio card.. and if ill be using some sort of portastudio - wont there be a loss in audio quality??? im thinking of getting one , like tascam , 8 track digital recorder, and record everything...
