Re: how to setup microkontrol as natively supported controller?

I just spent weeks figuring out how to use my Korg microKONTROL's full potential, and a few days ago, I discovered how to use it with ableton's instant mapping too. I made a tutorial with templates here: http://www.intuitivebeats.com/tutorials/ableton-live-tutorials/ableton-live-instant-mappings-fo...

Re: Sonalksis

I know that Dave Gamble has started his own thing DMG Audio.

http://www.dmgaudio.com/

Their existing products are stable and work well, so I wouldn't be too worried.

Re: how to setup microkontrol as natively supported controller?

The main problem is you cant send sysex from live so you cant put the controller in native mode.. which you need to get feedback.. You could use something to act as a bridge in order to do this, but I am not aware of any that are available.. I use mackie emulation with lcxmu which works well for my ...

Re: NI Massive or Camel Audio Alchemy?

I have both. I think Massive sounds better, but Alchemy is much more versatile, because you can load your own samples, use multisampled SFZ format, do granular sampling, or additive/spectral resynthesis os samples. It's beast. I just happen to think that Massive sounds amazing for all things electr...

Re: What do you guys use for Vocal recording?

I would not use a preset when using EQ for tidying up a track. You could use it as a starting point for shaping the sound after the vocal track is cleaned up and ready.. Listen to the lower frequencies of the vocal track.. can you hear how the volume changes as it interacts with other elements in yo...

Re: OT: Audiofile Engineering Wave Editor users - help

Use Live's Utility plug - open 2 instances of the file & select right/left for each, then adjust the timing by clicking 'D' on the right side of yer screen. Add another audio track to record it all w/ resampling. Levi That would work :) was hoping it was possible to do it visually in wave editor th...

OT: Audiofile Engineering Wave Editor users - help

This is copied from my post on the wave editor forum... I have an audio file that has the left channel a few samples ealier than the right channel.. I need to be able to adjust the position of the right channel to make things line up. (I am getting problems with comb filtering etc.. and am unable to...

Re: What do you guys use for Vocal recording?

If you are very close to the mic you will get extra bass due to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proximity_effect_%28audio%29 ... this causes problems because it is very unstable if you move your head etc you will get a variation in bass, i noticed this in your vocal http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr0...

Re: What do you guys use for Vocal recording?

EQ is your friend... The first thing I would do is try cutting some of the low mid frequencies... Do the eq work with all the tracks playing, this way you will be able to hear when the vocal starts cutting through.. Sometimes you can get a bit better clarity by boosting a little around 5K (very appr...
