Re: Automation mapping question...

the only thing i can think of would be to alter the ranges so the first half turn controlled 1 synth the second half controlled the other or their abouts, but you would need to set up the ranges so they only open to the maximum and minimum range that you are going to require within each synth. ideal...

Re: Do you leave your computer on?

hardware wise the best thing you can do for your computer is to turn it on and leave it on, the biggest risk of failure is in the spinning up and warming up of the components that is a fact.

obviously not good for your wallet or the environment, but computer hardware wise, its the best thing to do.

Re: What constitutes a "DJ mix"? - Discuss

as punter, i just like a dj that can beat match well, pick his tunes properly and turn his mix into a journey, their is nothing better than seamless mixing, and when 2 tunes come together to form something greater than the sum of its parts.

Re: controlling Ableton's track volume sliders from midi synth?

any 1 knob or slider could be assigned similarly, just alter the ranges, so say a slider range of 1-20 sets all volumes of song 1, 21-40 sets the volumes of song 2 and so on. just bare in mind the narrower the number range, the more precise you need to be, but that will be dependant on how many song...

Re: controlling Ableton's track volume sliders from midi synth?

if you only need to set the levels prior to playing each new song you could map each songs track volume settings to a key in an unused octave. press key 1 it sets up the volumes for song 1, press key 2 it resets the volumes to song 2 etc etc. you wouldnt need anything more than mapping software for ...

Re: Video - Apc40 - Opening the box and plugging in

Youv'e just sold me on the idea of getting an APC. I wasnt realy seeing what all the fuss is about, but having watched your tutorials over the last few days and then seeing the APC just take over your set like that so instantly & effortlessly, to me shows just what a great piece of kit this will...

Re: help with multiple beat repeats

I was just figuring this out myself yesterday, so far the best way ive found for my need needs is to map a PK pad to a controller, then asign it to volume, it will max the volume while your finger is on the pad then fall to zero instantly when you let go.

hope this helps.
