Thanks Chris. Im using a very basic Yamaha desk at the moment, but would love to have the extra stereo inputs on the Midas, not to mention the 4 auxs. I would love to hear the preamps in action. Do you really reckon they would measure up well against some more expensive "preamp only" type ...

Midas desks?

Anyone have any experience with them? They are primarily for live sound use, but as far as I can see, if the mic pres are as good as they say, they would be a great front end for my studio.... all the ins and outs you could possibly need with a serious eq. Its the 160 im looking at.

The main benefit is the bigger screen. I thought I would love to be using 2 screens, but only ever use the big main one now.... i hardly use my macbook screen at all. Which leads me to my question. How in hells teeth do I run my macbook in clamshell mode? I have tried before and failed. (Carlv)

Condra, i love my little micron. Its so nice to have it right there in front of me, cos I find that I use my soft synths less. I prefer to record my synths in physically, makes me consider my sound more, plus sounds a bit less sterile. To be honest, the micron could do with more parameter knobs. If ...

Have never used an ultralight, but have been using ff400 for over a year now. Very flexible routing wise, and sound quality is noticeably sharper than my firebox, which still sounds pretty good. I have a few friends that also use them, and although they have never had any trouble with build quality,...

Neither.
Get a pony with an apple logo on its rump.
Then get a small monkey with an airhorn to stand on its back while you film it.
Post the results here please.

8 Cores are a bit uneccessary. A macbook pro or a imac is a wicked machine, unless you are running huuuuge sessions, or need a pro set up to impress clients.

Yo misteron, actually those monitor iso things came in 2 bits. you can either have em straight or slanting down or up. I have em pointing down cos otherwise they would be pointing at the top of my head, not my ears. One set is acrulex, and the other I dont know. They both tighten up the midrange and...

With a bit of 4 by 4 timber, cut with a saw on one side so that its tilted.
Very simple but it works well.
