Re: Toneboosters Reelbus

Sounds really nice & it can be subtle but can't 80% of this be done with EQ & saturation? Except for the W&F & maybe the asperity noise. You could probably get some subtle W&F type effects from a vibrato plugin though if you already had that. I'd never use the tape hiss, so doesn...

Re: Do you still use Impulse?

you can also put 8 variations of a hit on the impulse pads, and trigger them randomly by using random + scale devices. good for hats Nice one! But I guess this little trick can be done in drum racks too... Impulse also has the handy global transpose where you can tune all 8 cells simultaneously, bu...

Re: Do you still use Impulse?

OK, sorry, same thing stated a different way. I guess it seemed contradictory/confusing to me because the first statement was that you can do "stretch" in simpler easily with the transpose parameter, but then goes on to say it would be nice if we could warp (stretch) in simpler. Anyway, so...

Re: Do you still use Impulse?

That's not the same thing. The Impulse stretch parameter allows you to time stretch (or time compress) the sample without changing the pitch. Try it & compare!

Impulse has independent stretch & pitch for each slot which is pretty cool. I haven't found any way to do this in Simpler or Sampler.

Do you still use Impulse?

Ever since drum racks came out do you still use Impulse occasionally? One thing I've noticed about Impulse that drum racks doesn't have is the stretch parameter. It really comes in handy for making hits shorter or longer & is a much different sound than just putting a shorter or longer envelope ...

Still it would be nice if there were a built in option to strip the silence from both ends of the sample & not have to trim each one manually.

Re: Continue to clip end point after clip stop?

Yeah I just thought of that one too, the second clip could just be the same clip but with loop turned off, which works a little better than timing just right the triggering of just the last segment. I guess that's the only way to do it in session view. I always thought it would be logical to have th...

Re: Continue to clip end point after clip stop?

Nope, removing the stop button is to keep a clip on that track to continue looping while you launch the next scene, instead of stopping it. If your clip is looping and you press the stop button at the bottom of the track, the clip stops at the end of the loop. I want the clip to stop at the end mark...

Continue to clip end point after clip stop?

I'd like the last cycle of a loop to continue to the end point of the clip (note release into next measure reverb tails, etc). It can be done in arrangement view easily of course, but is there a way to do it in session view when the stop button is pressed? So far, the only way I've figured out is to...

Re:

Wha? Sampler has no timestretch? Damn, even simpler has that. Oh well, one more reason to stick w/ soundfonts for my drumkits (and Simpler) . It would be nice to have some basic polyphonic modulation of sample playback speed, independent of pitch. Even Simpler's cheezy Vel. to stretching feature is...

Re: How to automate FX on/off switch

It would be really nice to have this. The only way I've been able to have the effect on some clips but not others in session view is by automating the effect's a wet/dry blend to 100% with the clip envelope. It doesn't save CPU like deactivating the effect would, but at least if you are lucky that t...

Re: EQ8 & Auto Filter adding 'Colour' to live set.

You probably have the Q for the hipass filter at a setting that's boosting at 30hz. The "default" at .71 doesn't seem quite flat at the cutoff frequency when you switch it to hipass. Try a Q of about .61 instead. And in regards to the autofilter, could be the same situation there. Addition...

drum rack pad zones

Does anyone get what the meaning of the shaded zones in the pad display selector is? There are 12 pads in each shaded group, yet the drum rack displays 16 pads at a time.

Re: Can you make a blank audio clip?

I noticed this too, I'm glad it was added, been wanting to move the start point before the start of the audio file for a long time now.

Is there any way to do this with warping off? I've tried a bunch of modifier keys while dragging & it only seems to work with warp turned on.

Re: Ultimate Ears by Logitech; Capital Rec Mastering: Seen this?

One thing that could be overlooked about the price is that they're custom molded. I have some musician's earplugs from the audiologist which were about $300 and that's without any drivers...just the custom molds & a pair of filters. Not that I'll be picking up a pair of these anytime soon, just ...
