Re: New to live pls help
What kind of tracks are you recording? Are you playing a guitar or something into your soundcard? As for saving seperate files you dont really have to do that as you can export all your all your channels as individual tracks using: file > export > "all tracks"

Re: Layering Kick Drum discussion
yea what machine said. good eqing/ sidechaining can make a big difference. I'll usually have a m/s eq on the master making everything below 300hz mono (could be 100 hz or 200hz if youd like). you should EQ every channel, cutting any unnecessary low freqs and making room for your kick and bass. I fin...

Re: EQ plug ins.
abes 9 eq is good, I was using pro q with ableton 8 quite a bit but have now realized its no longer necessary. Dont forget you can always use the x4 option for more aggresive high/low passing.

tune intro
Hey all,
wondering what you guys do for the intro to a song you are working on regarding volume and filter automation? Group or bus and have one gain/filter control or slap em on each channel?

Re: master bus vs master
Im thinking more about digital summing than latency. Would "summing" all my tracks to a single master bus (before going to the master), be the same as summing on the master track itself. Do individual channels vs the master channel behave the exact same for digital summing?

Re: order of effects
Yea theres no set "rules" when it comes to this sort of ordering and experimenting with different configurations is part of the fun. Having a solid understanding of what each effect is doing to your sound (individually) will make knowing what order makes the most sense for what your after....

master bus vs master
Hey all,
just wondering if there is any difference between having limiter, comp etc on a master bus vs the master channel itself? atm I have a master bus for all my channels then all my sends (usually reverbs, delays etc) going straight to the master.
cheers

Hey all,
so my kick and bassline levels are a bit high for the song im producing, just wondering how ppl go about bring those levels down without sacrificing any low end bite? Turning down the Volume, eq, multiband comp?
