Re: I'd kill for a good LFO filter for dubstep basses....

No... you set the LFO to sync, then set the value of the cutoff to be the highest value you want in the effect itself. (this is why it seems like it doesn't go all the way) then you draw automation for the lfo rate (while synced) in step sequences (rectangle looking automation) and can draw values f...

Re: I'd kill for a good LFO filter for dubstep basses....

I've actually had great success with autofilter and dubstep. I've made about 3 dubstep songs with exclusively after the simple act of distorting sub bass. I can post examples if need be, but honestly just get out your pen tool and automate the filter once its sync'd, i've always had good results tha...

Re: Monome Emulator for APC40 - free fun for you APC users!

Hey I wanted to say I took some time to actually read some Monome documentation and was able to fix my problems by installing vcp /facepalm You may or may not want to mention it as a requirement for people like me. Truly exciting stuff once I got it all up and running and was able to mess with MLR f...

Re: Which Access Virus to get?

I got a Polar. It adds sex appeal to my studio and doesn't take up all my desk space. I'm not a huge keys player, but I use the Virus keys for everything as they are very top notch and have great aftertouch. If I could do it all over again, I'd probably get the Polar. My buddy has gone through a Ful...

Re: Monome Emulator for APC40 - free fun for you APC users!

hmm.. I had trouble trying to get this to work tonight. Perhaps its because I'm using the wrong prefixes and don't know how to tell what a monome app's osc prefix is or perhaps because I'm using a mac. The only thing I was able to do was change the colors on my buttons. None the less I think this is...

Re: Monome Emulator for APC40 - free fun for you APC users!

Wow! Thanks for this, I'm gonna give it a shot a bit later after work.

Is it possible to turn Monome mode on and off? So you could be jamming on a set in regular APC mode, then switch to Monome mode for a bit and have some fun, then switch back?

Re: jomox vs elektron?

For super experimental stuff... that machinedrum has a devil inside of it.

Basically comes with the territory of being able to record and manipulate about 32 tracks of automation at a time on all the instruments at once.

Srsly man.. that MD is crazy.

Cancelling a Follow Action

Is there a command or something I can do where I can cancel a follow action or a launch event? Even a global button to disable launch events? Example: Scene1 has a follow action to go to Scene2 after a few bars. Once I launch scene1 aftewards scene2 starts blinking, can I press something where scene...

Re: Beat Repeat Midi Mapping (only turn on while button is down)

I could be wrong but it seemed like all of his repeats were the same length. You could do this via dummy clips by having x amount of clips, set the "repeat" to be on during a bar or half bar duration, and then for each clip automate the device on parameter and a different values for grid i...

Re: simplest way to create a stereo spread effect?

Put a simple delay on a track
Set both channels to time (instead of sync)
Set both of their times to 0 (1 ms by default)
Feedback 0%
Dry/Wet 100%

Then just drag one of the ms values up and down.. For instance try 1ms for L and 9ms for R.

GL!!

Re: Roland System 700m....

ASU has one of these :)

If you take the Electronic Music Studio classes you can mess with it (least you could a few years ago).

Was my first introduction to synths, I don't think the mixer board we fed it into did it any justice, but I still got some tapes laying around that I recorded from.

Re: I am really angry about L8

Wow am I the only one having a smooth experience with L8? Maybe its because I've used so many DAWs in the past but when I find a small problem or limitation, instead of moaning about the end of the world I usually just find a work around. Everything you've mentioned has a workaround I can think of o...

On the flip side if you are really lazy, I recommend getting a scales book and getting a general idea of what chords are.

Re: Virus Ti automation in Live 7

There are 2 ways. The first is in arrange in a regular automation lane, but as you probably noticed it only gives you access to the parameters of the "easy pages" for all the different parts. You can still get around this by re-assigning the 3 parameter knobs to whatever you were planning ...
