Re: Traveling DJ set
Yeah, the Faderfox products are far from cheap, fucking granite they are. Cant go wrong if you're looking for small and portable, and it's a modular set up or or less so you can pick and choose what you need

Love the idea! Looking to upgrade to some new stuff soon, and I'll be posting what I don't need as soon as I do.

Sustained String in Deep House, how to pull it off?
I've always wanted to try and work some strings into my tracks, namely when they are long sustained strings that sits underneath the track and just holds the tension. They really don't have any chord progression per se, just a long chord. But whenever I try to do it, it never turns out well. Does it...

Question and advice on doing drum fills
Starting to work more on making interesting drum fills and flares in my tracks to give it some more flavour and groove, not so much builds like during a break down but those little variations during the groove to break up monotonous feel of it. So here's my question, should I try to make fills with ...

Re: Is there a limit to the amount of midi channels you can have
So with something like the Motu Micro Lite (5 I/O midi interface) I could in theory have up to 80 midi channels? (5*16 = 80)? Does Ableton recognize multiple midi ports?

Is there a limit to the amount of midi channels you can have
Simple question, I know most midi controllers can go up to 16 different channels, but is there a way to have more?

Been hiding out in the studio, heres the results(House Music
So I've been hiding out in my studio the past couple of weeks, and here's the results of me hiding out. Some nice, fun housey tunes, should be something in here for every one. http://soundcloud.com/jason-bay/jason-bay-down-four-pegs This one I am very proud of, one of my more "basic" produ...

Re: Any tips or tricks on adding "bite" to synth lines?
I can't say enough about frequency splitting. 1. Use an effect rack. Start with one multiband compressor. Turn the compression Amount all the way down (meaning, don't apply any compression). Then set the Hi, Mid, Lo frequencies to taste. 2. Duplicate the chain and Solo the Lo, Mid, and Hi bands on ...

Re: Quick Question about the BCR2000's
Wouldn't the rotary knobs belong to the BCR2000 though or should have worded it differently i.e.
"Are the BCR2000's rotary knobs push buttons as well?"
No worries mate, all the grammar lessons I've learned in school all those years ago are good for shit by now I'm sure

Re: Any tips or tricks on adding "bite" to synth lines?
When I EQ on my mix down I always do subtractive, but I would assume I'm looking to boost certain frequencies to add that "bite" and "scream"?
And is that a common chain for adding bit?
EQ>Sat>OD>Comp?

Re: Any tips or tricks on adding "bite" to synth lines?
I'll try messing around with the order of the FX and try using the Saturator. Not very familiar with it but I guess now's a good of time as any to learn it
