I didn't listen to it for a long time but it sounded like the exact same sample pitched up with a metallic edge to it. One way to get that metallic sound is a combfilter, if you have Zebra you could do it with Zebrify. Another way to do it is to use the Resonater effect in Live. Either way it just s...

Re: Making music in a tiny room
If you are on a budget, try to find someone that is selling the panels they use in cubicle farms. I got 10 of them for less than 100. They're about 6'x5' or so and it's just cloth over insulation. I put them behind my speakers and on the walls facing my ears. I mount them about 2-3" off the wal...

Well there are a lot of folks on the planet. And the student license is somewhat affordable in a lot of places.

I would have no idea if 2M represents all active users or not but I'd be willing to bet the number is more than 1M.

I do. They went on and on about it. I owned it and and could not understand the fanaticism. I remember it being like that with Tracktion for a while as well. I guess people just got to get out of their system.eyeknow wrote:Really? I don't remember that at all.

Ok. But I'm not getting that in Live 8 w/Geist on my end. Every control seems to work properly in the gui with the vsti/au. Or maybe I'm not understanding things correctly.eyeknow wrote:I'm sorry, this is with the geist GUI.

[edit] I should clarify that it is not on the dvd. They give you a code to use in your account to make it available to download.

Re: Geist Cheap (in case you didn't know)
Mine arrived. I've been downloading/updating everything for a while. The version on the dvd was from 2010. Next I have to ask if I am eligible to receive the Guru expansion stuff for free since I still have my Guru license.

Or if that doesn't give you enough control over everything you can try Cycle. It will allow you to create deformation planes (mesh) that you can attach to just about every parameter of a source and move it over time as you see fit. I doubt a beginner would find it suitable but, you never know. It to...

Can you expand on that?Sage wrote:There are plenty of workarounds, which in practise are not really any slower than comping. Do use comping in other software and find it presents other problems which Ableton's slower method conveniently avoids.
