Re: Vocal Comping in Ableton

Takes and comping in Live is not really doable as far as I am concerned. Especially if you are tracking someone else.

Re: How to generate a waveform out of specific overtones?

If you were to use a synth Like Alchemy or Operator you could build the sound source starting with the fundamental and add the harmonics at the level you see fit. Now, if you want to see the resulting waveform you will need something like s(M)exoScope. There are other additive synths besides those t...

Re: Roland a-500pro

Does the A500 appear in the Preferences/Midi Sync tab in Live?

Re: Geist Cheap (in case you didn't know)

I don’t know what the technical reason is but at this point its Logic's fault. You can’t send MIDI from any third party plugin to another track. :x I agree, Logic, or the old Emagic team, and Apple are responsible for the Audio Unit Standard, and IMO although I mostly use AU over VST, it's fallen b...

I believe so. However, I don't know if there are other 3rd party vendors reducing their price as well. If so, one of them may have the downloadable version for sale.

At that price it's a no-brainer if you don't already have it.

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread

The other thing about all the updates and bug fixes is that it makes it pretty senseless to crack the program right now. I mean the program will be considerably different each week if they can keep this pace going for a while.

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread

I checked out the demo. I may check it out again down the line but I'm not parting with $400 just yet. The costs outweigh the benefits at this point in time, imo. One of the things that I wanted to see is whether or not it would be more effecient cpu wise. Had they come close to Reaper's cpu footpri...

Re: Just had a demo of Cockos - Reaper

I'm still waiting for a DAW manufacturer to offer accelerated DSP by way of CUDA cores. Imagine that! This is a patent waiting to happen. Massively powerful commodity hardware as the poor man's UAD. A lot of multimedia people have powerful GPUs for video editing already. it's not a DAW, however Acu...

Re: The Great BitWig Migration

i hope Bitwig survive but i think they have greatly underestimated the amount of blood sweat and tears required to build a Live-like DAW from scratch... I don't agree. This is one thing I think they do understand. The principle partners have been developing in this market for quite some time. With ...
