Re: All Live packs get updated this week??? (ansered by Abes)
And how about the ability to update packs from within Live related to those we own/have access to that are currently installed, this also tied to a version scheme? Would make it a lot easier, actually make it a separate update option instead of bundling it with a application version update (in case ...

Re: New tuts for Massive, Maschine, Reaktor, Zebra, FM8, Kontakt
Thanks for posting. I finally sat down (after having Massive for so long) and decided to poke around using your video(s). What would be nice (I think) is to explain the dragging of Env #/LFO # to the respective controls (Osc/Filter/etc) as if someone (like me) tries it you get lost quickly. BUT the ...

Re: using Padkontrol with a drumrack
I have a PK. You simply leave it on scene 1 and choose padkontrol template in the midi settings. It will then follow the drum rack pad slider. Hi Bud Padkontrol template as in the pre loaded scenes?Sorry no fully understanding this,(blame it on old age,ha,ha) :D Yes, just load up the first scene (u...

Re: using Padkontrol with a drumrack
Hi, I tried using the Live kit (Preload Data option from Editor Librarian for the padKontrol) but I got nothing. I did a quick check online and per a thread here said to load #1 Korg Standard 1 and then transmit that to the PK and load up live, open SoundObjects kit from Drum Rack and hit some pads ...

Re: using Padkontrol with a drumrack
Hi, I believe that you can load one of the setups in padKontrol and then Live will see it properly. I just don't remember which one as I have not used mine in some time. I should load the software back in and check it out and will post back unless someone beats me to it. Search for padKontrol on the...

Re: Please help me figure out how to install Suite Plug in
You need to put the vsti dll/files in the folder you have set in preferences. And yes, they need to be the same 64 bit as Live is (or 32 for 32 bit) or using JBridge (commercial program but you don't need it). I put a single vsti in and Live saw it on reloading it back up, I am running 32 bit btw fo...

Re: Browser & Places is empty. Help?
Did you download your authorized instrument packs from your account and install them? I am not sure what is there from an initial install and program loaded as I go start my instruments installations at that point.

Re: help!! using and recording external instruments
So you are saying the clips automation resets when the clip cycles? I would think it should since it is looping. I would expect similar results when recorded into Arrangement view from Session view. I would read further in the links I sent you on this. As for MIDI CC's, search the forum for threads ...

Re: Need HELP with MIDI connection (using MIDI-friendly keytar)
Hi, I am assuming you armed the track you have the keytar connected to and can hear the sounds when monitoring it? Have you looked at the manual online at all yet? Should be first place you look. I don't know if this will work as it's a MIDI controller with its built-in sounds. Drop an instrument on...

Re: Film Music Production Workflow
Hi,
I can't help you with film score stuff (but that would be something I'd be interested in reading more on here if I find any threads). But in regards to sample editor, there isn't a built-in one in Live. Pick your own (Audacity, Sound Forge, et al) and set it in preferences.

Re: help!! using and recording external instruments
Hi, Have you looked in the manual or online under Help at main Ableton site? https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/using-external-synthesizers-live/ https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/lives-midi-ports-explained/ https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/automation-and-editing-envelopes/ That should give you ...

Re: Recording Synth Sounds that don't require external playback
You could also record your midi pattern then use an audio track to record the midi/patch/sound bank into the audio clip. Or freeze/flatten/consolidate and it'll store it in the folder where you saved the project into. It's in the manual.

Re: Arrangement Template
Some people create their arrangements this way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_z9HsQVFqQ Hmmm, that's a different way (old school as he calls it) to work in arrangement view. I usually trigger clips in session recording into arrangement and then do more arranging there. But this seems to possibl...

They should be there as a pack to install. Perhaps you could also check your software page for available packs to download.
