Re: Good digital audio editor?

Wavelab fan here; but I have the full version 7, which is several hundred dollars US (at least). Wavelab's layout is also not the most intuitive. But if you ever need a good mastering software product for making industry standard CDs (yeah I know; "what's a CD?"), there you have it. Definitely you s...

Re: 32 bit upgrade to 64 bit Live question

Hello. Ableton's statement regarding 64 bit uses language that sort of implies to the user that 64 bit isn't really necessary and doesn't really give you anything new. Whoooo, it even brings mysterious risks and and might even cause bad breath! Okay, I made up that last one, but you get my point. :l...

Re: Ableton Live 10

I don't know what Rick Astley really thinks about Ableton Live, and would rather not waste time getting "Rickrolled", thank you very much.

+1 from me for VST3 support; I thought Live had it already. :o

That's all from me for now. 8)

Re: Some Love for Focusrite Saffire 40

Hello. Dumb question from me...

I see 8 inputs on the back of the FS 40. How do they get to 20-in/20-out? Are they counting these 8 inputs as 16 mono?

Thanks.

Re: >>WHO's TUTORIALS YOU PREFFER TO WATCH ??

this one's my favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeG78Q3fBM4 HAHAHA  Yeah, that's really not funny at all. No title and it caused my browser to leave the Ableton forum site just to go look at your "joke video". Lame fail. The guy/gal asked a serious question. Joke videos are just rude a...

Re: Ableton CPU Time To Upgrade?

Did you read the article How to reduce CPU load in Live? I found some gems there. Okay, much of that is "the usual". But I have one small problem with the last item. Saying "Disable your WIFI" is giving off a slight whiff on my bullshitometer. Without specific reasons, I call "bogus blanket solutio...

Re: Ableton CPU Time To Upgrade?

First of all, are you CERTAIN that it's CPU usage that is causing the performance problem? There are other reasons for performance problems, not necessarily due to CPU weakness. How is that external hard drive hooked up? USB, USB3, or what? Also, is the external hard drive one of those "green" model...

Re: One of the Greatest Rants EVER!!!!!

There are only so many notes in an octave, really only a few modes used in modern music, and only so many ways you can be unique in 4/4, 3/4, or 6/8 time and still adhere to any type of verse-chorus structure in eights. Music is math, and it does have a massive number of possibilities, but it's not...

Re: One of the Greatest Rants EVER!!!!!

...the rock scene is worse now because no one has been doing anything original (as far as I can hear) for at least the last 10 years. You can go into just about any chain restaurant and hear nothing but 80's rock. So it's been the last 30 years if you ask me. On the rare occasions I listen to 'rock...

Re: Multiple Plugin Paths Needed for VST2 type VSTs

Okay, I'll set it up with shortcuts. Thank you all for your input! And a reminder for all.... back that sh!t up please! I just had to restore an entire VST plugin folder because it was GONE! My 64 bit VSTPlugins folder for all Native Instruments Komplete 9 Ultimate went AWOL. The 32 bit plugins were...

Re: Multiple Plugin Paths Needed for VST2 type VSTs

I see. So you use shortcuts and Live can see all of the destination folders with their own separate DLLs and you don't have to do any manual copy/updates whenever you apply updates to your VSTs?

So maybe by trying to use libraries I'm making it more complex than it needs to be.

Multiple Plugin Paths Needed for VST2 type VSTs

Hello! I need a way to get multiple plugin paths for my various VST libraries into Ableton Live 9, but the host seems to be able to only accept one path at a time. I am trying to use Windows "Libraries" to get around this constraint by constructing a single virtual path, but I am having a bit of tro...

Re: BCR2000 Control V1.2 with video tutorials

As the topic "Ableton Live and BCR2000" came up lately here: I've just released version 1.2 of the BCR2000 Control M4L device set, now accompanied by a video tutorial in 6 parts: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/1416/bcr2000-control http://vimeo.com/t0n1/bcr2000control-1 (1-6) As an alterna...

Re: AIR's Advance Music Production Suite

I looked at their "About Us" page, and haha, it's the old Wizoo, which came from Steinberg, if I recall correctly. I thought they were going for the $1000 crowd until I hit the "buy now" button to see the price. Sans DAW, this appears to be just another collection of VST instruments and effects to g...
