Re: Real-time rendering doesn't start...
Dirk - I read your External Instrument thread, and this one too. Starting over from scratch, here's something for you to try. Summary Create a group of 16 Midi tracks and one Audio track. The MIDI tracks will be used to trigger sounds in the Motif XS, and the audio track will be used to monitor the ...

Re: Did they get it wrong? (Group sends)
Logically, all sends in the group would first go through to the group send and then group send levels are then passed to the master sends channels. There are times when you want to send a certain amount of the individual channels in a group, and then another amount for the entire group. So if somet...

Re: Help with Signal Chain, Home Studio Setup
Welcome to the forum. Resident Audio T4 Interface (Midi I/O & Thunderbolt); ordered This doesn't have MIDI I/O. How would you go about connecting all of these together? Plug the Voyager into the inputs of your T4. Adams plugged into the T4's 1-2 outputs. Headphone out of the T4 into your headpho...

Re: Extending short notes
I understand now. Use Live's Sampler or Simpler to create loop points within the sample, and then adjust the volume envelope to suite your needs.

Re: Extending short notes
Maybe I'm not understanding the problem, but couldn't you just duplicate the track (and instrument), and then alternate the "sections" between the two tracks?

Re: Can't rename VST parameters?
VST hosts like Live get the parameter names from the VST.
Contact the VST's developers to make sure they're actually presenting the parameter names, and if they are, contact Ableton so they know about the issue.

Re: Lush reverb in the style of Bonobo and Emancipator
You can also experiment with Live's Multiband Dynamics audio effect to split a single sample into 2-3 frequency ranges. Create 2-3 chains with MB Dynamics in an effect rack, and then use the solo buttons and crossovers in the Split Frequency section of each MB Dynamics to taste. For example, in chai...

I was watching those videos last night.
I liked the part on recording the raw waveforms of hardware synths, and making Sampler presets out of them.

Re: 128 style Drum Rack using up ten times it's size in memory
If someone doesn't own Sampler, then Simpler is their only option.
Yes, you can create 128 Simpler chains in an Instrument Rack, but just because you can, it doesn't mean you should.
Like stated above, reduce the number of Simplers in your Instrument Racks.
