Check out GoldWave. It's PC only and free (I think). There is a function within it called "vocal reducer" that a friend of mine used to extract some vocals. Though it's called vocal reducer, you can invert its function to cancel out the music instead. I haven't tried it myself, but if it r...

Yep, GoldWave. I just talked with my buddy and he said there is a button within GoldWave called "vocal reducer" so it's not really a plug, rather an edit function within the DAW itself.

A buddy of mine was able to lift vocals only using GoldWave: http://www.goldwave.com/ I wasn't able to see how he did it, but I heard the results and must say I seriously thought about switching to PC afterward. I remember he mentioned using one of the plugs designed to remove the vocals and somehow...

It seems to me you seem to make assumptions that seem inaccurate. You don't need to click on a link to know what the likely content is. That was the whole point of my post. You can recognize a thread as spam and just pass over it. Do spammers offend you that much... really!? Do their posts slow you...

It seems to me that spam tends to only bother the people that are gullible enough to actually click on those threads or perhaps even the links that are housed within those threads.

Semi-OT question: Will there be an update for Soundwrecks that utilizes the macros anytime soon? I've messed around with mapping some of them myself but my abilities don't quite compare with The Cov Ops. I think part of my feeling this way is that I wasn't the one who created the patch and th...

Re: The Covert Operators: Espionage!

The samples used in the Constructs presets are socalled “Meta Files”. Meta files are a special format that Ableton silently introduced with Live 6 - data files that can be used in Live as single cycle waveforms. The Covert Operators are the first to leverage this new technology and you are the firs...

I would love to scratch along my Live project btw ze2be, Torq in standalone is nice and stable To rewire: open Live then open Torq, its as simple as that...

That's what I figured. Are the rumors of an update true? I will most likely get the academic version so I'd like to wait until after an update is released.

midi controller....mixer....on board processing....fw interface. that is an actual, portable console. with faders, knobs, buttons...decent looking build, too... i don't think anyone else has really done this, outside of that maven thing. if so, i'd love to see it because i've been looking for a few...

I know this really isn't the place...

but i'd like to hear some of your opinions of Logic. I've noticed that there are a few users on this board. A friend of mine is coaxing me into getting it to make collaboration easier (he's not a huge fan of Live). I personally, am happy just using Live/Reason and various other plugs, but Logic seem...

There are some free triton extreme drum samples here, you'll have to sort through them though. They're organized by kit.

Am I misunderstanding something here? All I did to update from 6.03 was drag the 6.05 folder to my apps folder and away I went. Is there another/better way to update? I will admit I'm not all that computer savvy but Live makes updates extremely easy... for me anyway. But then again, I don't pay too ...

There is definitely a lot of good advice here, but I think the trend is that everyone goes about it a bit differently. As for me, I started out teaching myself with a Roland Mc-505 and nothing else. It was a great learning tool. Sequencing, synthesis, mixing... it has it all but of course, with only...
