Re: Ableton Live 10.0.3 takes 40 minutes to load!
Oh poo! OK, better get saving then :( Any advice on what is a 'suitable' computer? And is Mac or Windows better for Ableton (or is that a separate hot topic?) The macOS versus Windows is just going to start a war :) I would suggest buying what you are comfortable with. As for specs try to aim for a...

Re: Ableton Live 10.0.3 takes 40 minutes to load!
Thanks for all your feedback and support!! I have disconnected all hard drives and my midi keyboard etc, and now just have Ableton running and my mic/speakers attached. I then rebooted. It took 15 minutes to load Ableton whoop whoop!! :-( But when I tried to load my project it's still hanging sayin...

Re: New Komplete, including new Massive X coming from NI
If you purchase Komplete 12 Ultimate Collectors Edition (geez what a mouthful). You get all their Expansion sound and sample packs. Which seems good until you realize that their Expansion line directly competes with Sounds.com and NI is likely just dumping the Expansions in some clever marketing. So...

Software release dates - what am I missing here?
TL;DR - Is there some kind of calendar for the music production industry? So three major DAWs (that I'm aware of.) had major/minor updates in the last week or so. Ableton Live, Bitwig and Studio One. Is there some kind of schedule that I'm unaware of for this stuff? Is it a coincidence? I'm kind of ...

Yes, and that's what makes it so sad.login wrote:That doesn't mean VST2 will suddenly stop working or developers will stop making them, or DAW's supporting them.
I am going to bet the adoption of VST3 will remain as slow as it has been until today unless DAWs drop VST2 support.

VST 2 coming to an end. - Steinberg
Well maybe now Ableton will allow VST3 plugins. If Ableton had started working on this years ago then there wouldn't be a problem now.

Re: Ableton Live 10 - whats your favourite new features?
My Favorite new feature is comping. Finally I can have multiple takes for vocal, guitar ... whatever. The new comping feature really makes Live seem like a full featured DAW. My other new favorite feature is the new font. The new font is like staring into the eyes of angels. It's so relaxing to be a...

Re: Truths about perceived quality in audio interfaces for ITB
For years I haven't bought sound cards for the sound quality. I've bought sound cards for their drivers and build quality. An inexpensive sound card might sound great but when will the cheap capacitors start leaking and fail? When will great sounding inexpensive sound card no longer support the late...

Re: Vst 3 support in Live. When?
At this point the fact that AL doesn't support VST3 is just plain weird. Do they have something against the format? Do they lack the resources to implement VST3 in Live? What's the problem? How hard can it be?

Re: Randomize Samples in Ableton's DrumRack
Dear fellow musicnerds, I HAVE A DREAM: I would love to have a add-on function that will with one click fill your drumrack with random samples of your own sample library from your hard drive. You can set the folders were the randomizer should take samples from, tell it how many you want to load and...
