My first version of Live is 8.0.1 and currently I'm at 8.2.6. Do I need to keep all old versions? I'm running out of space on my boot drive and would like to remove these if possible.
Thanks,
bobland

Re: How do I move all my projects(and samples) to a new computer
Don't know about Mac or laptops but when I change computers I just install the same drive. Usually, I opt for a much larger drive so I straight copy to the new drive then pull the old one. I suppose one could also do a cable copy or an overnight ad hoc connection. Slow but painless.

Re: Oriental Orchestra
Here's a site that has multiple collections of middle eastern music. The link goes directly to "Sultan Strings," but there are others.

Re: Oriental Orchestra
I gave a listen as I favor middle eastern music somewhat. The strings sound very western. The only thing that makes them "oriental" is the note slides. This is something that you can do yourself with any string ensemble. In fact, if you learn to do this you can apply the technique to any i...

Re: Shepard's Tone with Samples
When I used the pitch envelope I can hear the steps, probably because I'm sweeping an octave with a sample that has discrete pitches within it.
I listened to the link you indicated but the background drones sounded static to me, that is, no rising.

Solved: Shepard's Tone with Samples
Solved. Simple. Cut sample into slices. Actually, gives me a lot more creative options then a straight conversion.

Re: Shepard's Tone with Samples
Using Sampler, there's no option for bend. This option is only available for MIDI. My other option is to convert the sample to midi but I haven't found a way to do that yet.

Shepard's Tone with Samples
I followed Tom Cosm's tutorial for creating Shepard's Tone. Since I'm using a sample, I don't have the bend option so I'm using transpose. Everything works except I get stepping using the transpose. Is there a way to either use the bend or to some how smooth the steps in the transpose? Thanks, bobland

Re: Memory for iPad2
I have lousy vision. For that reason, I prefer to watch movies on my 25" monitor or 32" TV. As far as music, I don't collect any. If anything, I'd like to capture clips from video, edit them down as sample sources and store them off in some corner. I've looked at a lot of apps on the appst...

Memory for iPad2
I'm thinking of getting an iPad2 for use as a controller. What I don't know is what I need for memory. 16, 32, or 64. I don't intend on traveling so wifi is all I need. I have a large desktop system (W64) so I don't need it for anything other then music. I've read just about every post on iPads on t...

Re: Restart Roland USB Soundcard without restarting my Laptop?
I have a similar problem with the Focusrite Scarlett. If I let the computer sleep it will often disable the driver. I've found that killing the audiodg.exe process will immediately restart sound. To do this, open the task manager. You should find the audiodg.exe near the top of the Processes tab. Ri...

Play on Launch
I have a clip that I modified from 4/4 to 9/8. When I launch a scene it plays immediately rather then playing thru the current clip then moving to the next. I tested this by starting a new project in 9/4. The new project launches and plays correctly. I've compared the parameters of both projects and...
