hi, here is my quandry... once upon a time, my sampler was an essential part of my show... (along with a carload of synths/rack fx etc) and now, since live has come into my life, the poor thing just sits in the studio rarely getting turned on... is there anyone out there who still uses their sampler...

i suggest that you rtfm.

but besides that... you have to hook up the synth to the soundcard inputs.... as to why it sounds crappy... it could be that you have the levels of your synth to high...

heya, you can pre-listen with the m-box if you get "Jack"... but this is OSX only... and it's a bit fiddly... you have to sacrifice a track to pre-listen.... there is a whole other thread on this forum somewhere... maybe do a search. It would be great if you could pre-listen on the compute...

you need to install the digidesign core audio driver that comes with Pro Tools LE that you got with the M-box... or download just the CORE audio driver from Digidesign web page. I upgraded from digidesign version of live, so i didn't have this problem... but i'm pretty sure that you may not have che...

Heya, It is really super easy to set up the Mbox to record into live.... just make sure you set the core audio drivers in Live's preferences to "DIGIDESIGN i/o", for both the INPUT and OUTPUT. then just go to a track and select "live in" ... hit the mic symbol, and arm it for rec...

nah, i'm pretty sure it isn't the micro kontrol. I have tried unplugging, and still get the same thing going on. It's quite strange actually, after I posted that reply, the mbox worked great for about an hour, and then quit on me in the usual fashion. go figure. just tempramental i guess.

had an UC-16 running on os9.2.2... yeah. I reckon that os 9 is a bit weird with USB midi devices, sometimes my G3 ibook would recognise it either.

If you can, go up to OSX. it solved all those USB midi problems for me.

Have just downloaded both Live 3.04 and Pro-tools LE 6.2.3. so am up to date with all software, and am unable to have Live running for more than 30 secon...
