I'm looking for commitment, which is why my music is childishly simple.

Never be ashamed of drunken ramblings.

Well, unless your really fucked up.

Is it ok if my booze related retraction countermeasure is also booze related?

Sorry anyway. It wasn't that bad, btw.

Re: The problem with biological immortality

Post saved in case forge regrets it later. If scientists figure out how to stop the aging process it doesn’t mean you will never die. It means eventually you’ll die a horribly violent death. :x ha ha statistically I suppose so. I think we're on the verge of something big on this planet... either it'...

Re: The problem with biological immortality

I am imagining that tiny minority of super-rich people, biologically immortal and propped up by plastic surgery. Two-hundred year old men with perfect heads of hair, skeleton-thin crones with even teeth and plastic breasts Definitely what I'd do with immortality. Edit- Sorry, mis read. I blame last...

Good find.

Did you follow the link to the article that explains why The Bell Curve is an unscientific pile of crap?

For bizarre conclusions based on a mixture of science, eastern philosophy and dreams presented as fact; alongside a running monologue of mundane details, with reviews of food, coffee and clean reasonably priced accommodation: http://www.defectivegeeks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/tumblr_lgkyodqE8C...

Re: Ableton, Bitwig etc - get your act together !

The frequency of bugs and crashing has nothing to do with how complex a program is, what it interfaces, the platform it runs on, or even the skill of the writers . It's only affected by how quickly you need to finish a task. No matter how simple a thing you need to do, if there's a deadline imminent...

It's annoying as all hell. He's alright, it's just that his mind doesn't allow him to see other points of view. It's k...

Re: Bitwig is the Killa!

I like Live :-) (And I think it was well worth the money!) Not good enough Tom. You must justify why Live is better than Bitwig, with special attention to what Pro features you use that Bitwig doesn't have. Otherwise you'll look like a rank armature. :P Anyway, I've tried asking these questions in ...

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread

I was disappointed as soon as they started releasing details of what they were up to. They placed it in exactly the same position as live, with the same mix of real time mixing and production functionality. Sure, there's some different features, some new, some missing, but it's it's a direct competi...

This is what passes for a "full review" in linuxland.

Mac and PC users just want to know if it works as described, is fun to use, makes nice noises, has a few cool features, etc, etc.

Re: What do you think producers could use help with?

TomV, I'm curious.. What type of music do you currently create? If you could compare it to or cite some more influences. My influences actually don't represent the final product of my process much. They have been from all types of music, but I only appropriate a small part of it here and there and ...

Re: What do you think producers could use help with?

My two best friends and I noticed that there was a lot of frustration with the way musiicans were pitching themselves online (namely the whole “yo ima be hueg sign me plz approach”), Round these parts I usually tell everyone I'm a talentless hack. Not entirely false modesty, unfortunately. Maybe if...
