Re: Quality and stereo loss when exporting
I noticed that you are exporting a WAV and MP3 file. Do both formats sound the same? Even though you have set the output of the WAV file to be 32 bits , I wonder if the problem could be caused by having too high levels in your mix? You can check this by noticing if the Master meter is always in the ...

Re: Need advise on making realistic sounds
Making MIDI instruments sound realistic is not easy and it is arguable that the sampled instruments that come with Ableton just aren't sophisticated enough to work at the highest level required for film scoring work. The bottom line is that just draw midi notes on the piano role is not going to get ...

Re: Gain Staging Help Please!
Headphones plugged directly into the Mac make it very difficult to get the sound loud enough in your ears without having your mix levels very high. You are correct that using a audio interface will allow you to have a volume control for the headphones which can make it sound louder in you ears witho...

This might be closer to what you are looking for. http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/ Bear in mind that with more than 12 divisions in an octave the MIDI keyboard no longer works "normally" This is an interesting link too https://music.stackexchange.com/questions/43176/sending-microtuned-...

Re: Pitch Bend Automation?
This depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are thinking of the MIDI pitch bend function, it can be automated by drawing the curve in the clip editor. I haven't tried this (good idea for a project) but I think you could map an LFO to the control. If it is an audio track each clip has a...

Re: How did I it ?
Hi Beral, It seems to me that in order to replicate the sound of the original bass you need to look at two different things. 1. The sound of the original bass. If this is not established fine tuning the tremelo will not get you were you want to be. It is going to be a real challenge to reproduce the...

Re: mic input signal is too low
I don't think the problem is that your microphone is too good for the audio interface. To troubleshoot this problem it is helpful to break the signal path down into smaller sections. First thing to check is whether Live is connected to the focusrite scarlett 2i2 interface. Can you listen to the outp...

Setting APC 40 Mk 2 Device Lock focus when track is selected.
I suspect that the solution is some Python scripting, but I'm not even sure if the API would support the functionality I am looking for. Utilization Scenario This is a situation for live performance, with the APC 40 serving as a mixer, clip launcher and effects controller. Some of the track have lot...

Re: Collaboration with someone using a PC
For a few years I would move Live sets between a PC and a Mac, both in the same room. I ended up having the same VST's on both platforms and it worked out. One option is for you and your collaborator want to configure identical environments. This option has financial implications that might not be p...

Try turning your speakers off. It might be feedback and the latency is creating the delay for the echo.

Re: One midi channel randomly lowering volume (Please help)
Hi OptioBE My first thought is to wonder if there is a very slow LFO that is operating with in the Darkness Pad that is bring down a filter that causes the drop in volume. Without knowing more it is difficult to be more specific. One thing you could to is to start a new project with just the Darknes...

Re: CPU REQUIREMENTS FOR LIVE 9
I just rehabilitated a Mid 2010 MBP 13" with a Core Duo 2 processor at 2.4 ghz. My sense is that if all you are doing is playing audio clips with very few effects it could work but it hasn't good the power to do much processing and it would run out of gas real fast if you tried some softsyths.

Re: ableton on a new windows 10 laptop.
Windows 10 on a SSD, Ableton 9.6 works without any problems. However, Windows 10 is even more annoying than Window 8 (which could be fixed with Classic Shell). What annoys me is losing control of the computer to windows updates. And as Murphy predicts Windows decides to do updates right when i want ...
