Re: Novation circuit

Like banging a saucepan with a mallet and sticking a tambourine up your arse. Good groove. Like the beat

Re: Novation circuit

These days I've got it stripped back to a virus, and 2 basic soft synths mapped to midi controllers for the knob joy. I honestly don't want more. Serum, dune etc are great I'm sure, but I like it simplified. Googling more about Circuit, I kind of want to want it, but think I might be wasting £££ and...

Re: Novation circuit

Agreed. I love having fun making music, but after a while, if you can't start putting some proper shit together, then it quickly becomes irrelevant. There's a big market for a product along these lines, and hopefully someone's gonna nail it. The ipad is ok, and powerful, but it just doesn't sit quit...

Re: Novation circuit

Being lured in again... also love grooveboxes. Plus it's truely portable. Will reserve judgement until it's had a chance to bed in. Is there gonna be enough variation to produce uniqueness though ?

I love equipment limitations, as it makes you work in a clear and concise way. But there are limitations if u get what I mean

Re: Novation circuit

John novation, my initial post may have been unduly harsh. But all the emails I received suggested that Circuit was the second coming of JC. The marketing worked, and my interest aroused. Then watching the clichéd videos, it didn't seem all that at all both sonically and creatively. Now, I own vario...

Novation circuit

Maybe I'm missing something, but from what I've seen, is this not an embarrassing piece of shit. Dance music paint by numbers. Buy the CDs in tesco. I think I'll buy one to pair with my akai rythm wolf, and new korg electribe. Come on, it's just fucking insulting. Pop dance yeah! Raspberry

Re: Mapping midi controller to vst in instrument rack

Clear as mud then!. Think I'll try and ignore instrument racks, and set up a template with 2 controllers assigned to each synth on seperate midi tracks. Gotta be a way. As I said before, pretty old unreliable controllers though. Lothe to spend ££ experimenting though

Mapping midi controller to vst in instrument rack

I might be missing something, but after a frustrating afternoon, maybe someone can help. I'm trying to use a couple of mid controllers to control tal audio bassline 101, and uno-lx in instrument racks. I open instrument rack, insert the vst. I have an evolution uc-16 controller plugged in via usb. I...

[jur] wrote:Live 9 and 9.1 will work, but 9.2 dropped compatibility for SL. It might work but without any guarantee.
But imho you'd better keep SL which is a really good os. Live runs much better on it than on Lion or ML.
Does that include upto 9.1.8 or just 9.1?

Re: Old MacBook Pro. Upgrade from live 8 to 9 ?

Great advice. Thanks. I guess I'll stay on sl then. Question now is....is live 9 ( or 9.1, as that would be my limit ), much of an improvement over 8. Hear all these comments from people who went back to 8. But clip automation..

Old MacBook Pro. Upgrade from live 8 to 9 ?

I am running osx 10.6.8 snow leopard on an old MBP. I cannot upgrade the osx due to the age of the machine. Possibly can go to Lion, but not Mountain Lion and beyond. Toying with the idea of upgrading from live 8 to live 9, mainly for clip automation. Is this possible with my current set up, or will...
