Hi guys! FWIW I am new to Live4, having "moved over" from Tracktion partly because I fancied something with better time-stretching, and love the clip/scene based arraging paradigm of Live, as well as the "fold" track feature which really simplifies MIDI editing. But... I'm with t...

Thanks for the responses.

That's bad news though :( - I really hope that if this is a general (and serious) problem they will find a way to resolve it and optimise the program better as an all-round music production environment that can handle VSTs and MIDI tracks effectively and efficiently.

VST and CPU performance issues

I am hoping that somebody here might be able to help me or clarify the source of my problems with Live 4's audio handling, CPU hit and VSTi. I've done a test just using Live 4 and Tracktion, brought on by my growing concern/disappointment in Live's audio performance and CPU handling. Overall I found...

Exporting MIDI - channel 10

Yo! This is probably a REALLY stupid question, but I'm a newbie so bear with me please! Also I have searched the manual and this forum and come up blank so far... My task for the day was to sequence a simple drum part and export it as a MIDI clip... then copy the MIDI file over to a floppy disk and ...

Thanks again for the advice :) I'm already getting better results with the clip I was previously strunggling with... I see what you mean about working out the warp modes with a bit of trial and error. I'm one of these logical types who looks out for an A-Z answer - but I need to use my ears more, cl...

Thank you very much for taking time to give a detailed answer - and for not biting my head off too severely! I did try to find other threads on the topic, but the only recent one that looked possibly relevant, the poerson asking the question was directed to another thread which I couldn't find! but ...

Hello all, I hope someone can help, and sorry in advance if this has already bneen covered in other threads - I'm new around here (and new to Live). My problem is: I made a 12 bar pad loop using Reason's Maelstrom synth. I ReWired into Live audio track 1 and bounced the audio to track 2 to make an a...

P.S. Is there a way to turn off the Warp when previewing single-hit samples? Also, I noticed that samples are previewed at 16-bit audio - can this be adjusted, and what bit-depth is the internal audio engine working at? (32-bit in Audition, and I set audio recording at 24-bit to suit my Edirol inter...

Thanks for that - explains everything. I just tested your solution, and sure enough the samples do sound fine once they are in Simpler and triggered by a MIDI clip :) As you can no doubt tell, I am a "newbie" so far as Live goes... I bought Live 2 on the strength of reviews at the time but...

Samples wobbly - please help!

Hi - this is my first post on the Ableton forum! I am having a problem with previewing samples in Live 4. I want to choose a bass sound and move it into Simpler. But when I listen to the preview, it turns out that all sounds have a wobble to them. I have checked that the samples themselves are ok by...
