Re: Biological Impulses featuring Acoustix by Sample Logic

Thanks for the feedback Terrance - I will look into 'ducking'... I've known about this for a while, but haven't really jumped into using it yet. I have, however, started to explore much more deeply compression / limiting... these rabbit holes are very very deep!

Re: Sample Logic releases Acoustix for Live!

I purchased Acoustix last week - am absolutely loving it so far. I've been experimenting and picking apart their instruments and have found them to be very inspirational in the least for building my own. Some of their samples are too beautiful... lots of great control, and if you know how to take ap...

Biological Impulses featuring Acoustix by Sample Logic

Hi all - I purchased Acoustix by Sample Logic this past week - am really enjoying it so far - find it to be pretty inspirational to someone interested in creating their own instruments, so being able to take theirs apart etc, is great. They have some fabulous samples, so I've been playing a lot. Str...

Re: Sinatra cover

Fun and refreshing - only complaint is that the vocals become pretty difficult to hear during the bigger hits! Not sure how to remedy that exactly but I'm pretty sure sidechaining compression helps?

I Play Strings With Knobs - Set Screen Grab / Apc40 Video

Part of a much bigger set, I cut it down to just one line of clips for the video. The piano was pre-recorded Midi I had done during a different live set. Drums are clean acoustic loops. The instrument is one I've been working on creating for a while now... still perfecting the performance aspect of ...

Free Love Lush: Gallery Closing

Hi guys - played my first live show this past friday at a friend's photo gallery closing. Turned out to be a blast - learned a lot about setting up and mixing live (VERY different than playing at home!!) Anywhoo, here's a quick excerpt from that set. This was all performed live, but the vocals were ...

Re: For This Evening's Entertainment: A Demonstration of Sound

Thanks for the nice feedback guys. As for terrance: This is created live on the fly, so ideally I'm aiming to perform these tracks in a live venue. Some of the drum samples are distorted a little bit (but the acoustic drum samples are pretty solid) I'm doing my best to wrap my head around compressin...

Live Set Screen Grab - Axiom 61/Live Piano/Piz Strings

Short 3 min clip of a 10 minute set. Still have a lot of mixing issues to work out (i.e. when the kick comes in it's still too overbearing) Any feedback welcomed

Re: Unvertainty Reduction Theory

Thanks guys - and I don't think he was saying it was 'bad'... just pointing out areas for improvement.. and I agree. I've been trying to balance a lot of shit going on right now.. am finishing up a degree in digital design..which offers little to no advice on audio design, so all of this has been a ...

Unvertainty Reduction Theory

Intro is all a live piano improv, then everything built in on top of that - I would start about 6 minutes in if you have a short attention span / aren't a fan of piano :D

Re: Questions about MIDI with Sustain / Overdub - Piano

Oh that sucks a lot! I wish I would have known this before my purchase. :(

Anyways - any ideas about why it's not recording the sustain?
