hi guys, thought I'd just bump this post with a solution... if only a temporary one. problem was: Bad hum / electrical interference thru my monitors when my laptop was plugged into the mains. I bought 2x ArtXdirect boxes, altho it stopped the hum a bit, I really wasnt that happy with it... I decided...

I dont think I can help answering this anyway, but I have to agree, using 3rd party plugins is probably the thing you'll have to do in order to get a better sound, and try not to warp ...

cool, I'll go down there tomorrow or sunday and ask them, Im wanting to connect from my Firewire 410 to the DI box, then XLR from DI box to monitors... surely it'll work... fuck it wot else am i gonna spend my student loan on.

so i've bought KRK rp6's couple days ago, and I've noticed that while my laptop is connected to the mains, there is a nasty hiss, it's really bad. I've looked on the forums already and found stuff out about ground loop breaking!? I just want to double check though, before I go out and buy something ...
