Re: Note Mode on APC40
Hi Guys, No need to get nasty with Andy, he's a good guy, a good musician and probably just like you in a lot of ways :) http://andykyte.com/Site/Music/Music.html I wish we were in the Maldives, but we're in Culver City at Akai's offices discussing exactly these kinds of wishes. I'll keep you posted...

Re: making a mix CD w/ Live
Hey Guys,
Funny, just did a lesson on this (actually for recording from vinyl, but skip the 'unwarped' part and you should be fine. It's in Live 8 but I believe it all works in Live 7 too:

Hi Guys,
We are working hard on our collaboration with Serato, who are in Berlin as I type. We'll try to post a news update for you in the next day or two. Thanks for your patience, we think you'll like the results, sorry I can't say more at the moment.

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Hi All, As a few of you have found out, holding down global play and record while you start up will enable you to delete the APC40's firmware. We strongly recommend you do not do this, as you will have to contact Akai, and request return authorization to replace your firmware at Akai's factory. Best...

Jeff is using slice too, in that case he's taking different parts out of a longer sample and assigning them to specific keys (sometimes you don't need every sample sliced out for you. Here's a nice Simple Delay preset he made for adding ambience to samples: http://www.jethroe.com/2009/07/20/jazzy-je...

Re: OT: Jodorowsky
I was really interested to learn he was the original director of Dune, before David Lynch took over. Salvador Dali was the emperor, and it was to be a 10 hour movie:

Just a follow up here:
Had the turkey hoagie at Argentos in Roxborough. man, that is a serious sandwich. Not as serious as a Drexel special from Koch's, but top quality.
I also thank yous for inspiration.

Re: OT: Your favourite sandwich
I was about to wax poetic on Philadelphia sandwichery, but MikeMC beat me to it and has proven himself to be a gentleman of good taste. The hoagie is another platinum success from Philadelphia. I recently showed Gerhard Behles the touch screen magic that can be found at Wawa (do you want extra meat?...

Re: Is this possible?: clip as a tempo/groove master
I just had a similar situation: had to add guitar parts to a soul track that wasn't made with a metronome, i.e. it speeds up ad slows down, and I wanted to record it in Live. -- I warped the soul track very tightly (in Live 8, you can quantize it which works great) in Arrangement view (as said, this...

Hit select track, and the macro device encoders are automatically mapped to operator, the shift button gives you access to 8 banks of Operator's parameters.

Lots and lots of favorites here. But this week we've been in touch with Diplo, Santigold, Animal Collective, Pete Townshend, Daft Punk, Flying Lotus, and visited with Yeasayer, Jazzy Jeff and going to see Kenny Dope and DJ Spinna in a minute here, all using Live...some new movies coming soon.
