Per the first section I am not sure what is going on as for the second problem and this might relate to the first. That little blinking light only means that useable midi data is being recognized by live and nothing more.

Maybe you knew this already. But anyway, hope it helps.

PS Those skins are pretty sweet too. Do they affect the performance of live such as using more memory to paste this skin over the top of the original? If that makes sense.

i cant imagine anything that a step sequencer would be good for that you can't already do with impulse or on the piano roll. if i am missing something please explain?
