This is fantastic! I work mainly with 7-11 year olds teaching music and would absolutely love to do/have something similar (out of my league sadly). Well done! :D

Depends on the music the op's friend is writing. The post implies he/she is using pen and paper to write notation.... I doubt this person is hearing synths, reverbs, delays etc... I have no idea why you would be looking at Live as a companion to a notation program.
