Re: Turn off indexing
Thank you for this! I've been having a lot of trouble with Live freezing for up to 5 minutes sometimes, becoming completely unresponsive. This will happen when Live regains focus after a while, or when I'm loading or saving. I've started smoking again because of the enforced 5 minute breaks, not a j...

Re: How to use the sample browser as intended?
I tried that a while ago, and it wasn't for me. :/ But it's been updated since, maybe the new version fits my needs better, I'll check it out.
And I guess I'll put one mark in the "objectively bad" column

How to use the sample browser as intended?
I'm looking for suggestions on how to work with the sample browser. I have given up on my Live 8 workflows, since they are impossible in Live 9+ (eg using aliases/symbolic links to organize, switching between sorting by name/size/date to find files), and Ableton have been as clear as they could in t...

2. Have ore than one info column other than the file name visible. Actually you can have two columns. Just right-click in the column bar. Sort by clicking on the other column. I suppose up to 4 would be nice. Yeah, that's why I wrote one other In addition I think arguing to go back to the previous ...

Re: —Please Bring The File Browser Back To Live 8 Functionality—
This functionality is never coming back, is it?
So, let's perhaps talk alternatives:
Is there a way to organize samples that live in multiple directories so that they appear in one place in Live 9? Is there a way for a sample to appear in more than one place without having to duplicate it?

—Please Bring The File Browser Back To Live 8 Functionality—
Hi! There are two major things that the file browser did in Live 8 and now doesn't do in Live 9, harmful regressions that I wish you'd fix: 1. See symbolic links. This is THE deal breaker that prevents me from upgrading to 9 today. I have painstakingly organized all my samples using symbolic links, ...

If you don't have access to formant filters, find a formant frequency table and filter something square-ish accordingly, then add noise processed with a resonant bandpass for "breathiness" as desired

Re: Question about Sample management in Ableton
Consolidate each of the snippets (ctrl-j on windows). When you "Collect All and Save", they will be saved in the project folder as samples, named the way they are in the arrangement.

Re: Live powercycles my USB powered MIDI keyboard during startup
I have had this problem with low-powered USB hub under load from devices. Changing the hub fixed it, at least in that case. I only have onboard USB available, so that's not an option (unless of course i buy a powered usb hub). BTW: the whole thing seems to be connected to network traffic somehow? I...
