yes, ableton should have linked clip or unlinked clip between arrangement and session

if you want more choice than the quantization option (8, 4, 2 bars ....) you need to warp your sample and set the start to a negative value, example : -5 bars -3 beats -2 semiquaver (sixteenth note.)

my setup is in my signature, i advise you a less expensive keyboard and a launchpad
the launchpad allow you to have a session view on the launchpad and the arrangement on your monitor
