thanks for the hint.
i didn't doubt a second that slot-to-slot referencing would be totally doable in m4l - thing is, i don't own it. and i am kind of afraid i would never come to actually make music again if i would start using it...

slot-to-slot referencing
i would be surprised if this wasn't mentioned here before but just to be save let me explain this one in my own words as it would help me (and plenty of others) a lot. by slot-to-slot referencing i mean that a slot which usually would contain a clip does in fact reference to another slot which then ...

Re: Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6
i also got one and i don't think i would get it again. my buffer size is set on 196 and i still experience cracks and dropouts though my set is 8 tracks max and my laptop really should be able to handle it (cpu load seldomly displays more than 30 percent). i don't get how the rest of the guys in thi...

Re: help with live looping set up
hmm i guess the only thing would be to do it with a bigger pedal then. might look into getting that icon pedal. thing is then i dont have enough slots for the usb. would i be able to go usb to midi? yeah the g-boards are cheap and look neat. not sure if they are available in europe or the US yet. i...

Re: help with live looping set up
you can also map the scene up/down. so it's scene up, down, record/play, each function one footswitch? makes them three. is this the way you are doing it? don't u have to constantly check the screen for knowing where your scene bar is? additionally, by recording a clip you also fire every cl...

Re: help with live looping set up
You need to assign the play button under all the clips (you can only see it on the midi map screen), and arm the track. If you want to have a "thru" signal, you got also to create an "input" track monitored to ON, and route it to the tracks you are recording to. We're trying to ...

Re: Best keyboard controller? Using Cakewalk A300 right now.
i thought this ACT thing is only working for cakewalks sonar. did you try turning it off? sounds like you should have a look at the a300s editor. when i started creating a template from scratch i got more and more an idea of what is going on with that mystical midi thing. assigning in ableton came a...

Re: Best keyboard controller? Using Cakewalk A300 right now.
i'm using a cakewalk A300 pro together with an apc40 and i am loving it. ok, except for the A300's encoders not being endless but on the other hand you won't find better keys in that price range. even being a complete midi noob when i bought it i found it quite easy to set it up using the editor sof...

i have two Boss FS5U linked to my APC40. can't say anything negative about them. they do their job and feel really robust.

Re: audio and midi looping.... without using the mouse...
i tried to achieve kind of the same thing, these are my conclusions so far: - u can map single clip slots on dedicated buttons on a footswitch. means apc style, push/ step on a button to start recording in a clip, push the next one (in the same track) to stop it and start a new one. problem is, no o...

Re: Two different "Blue Hand" possible?
thanks to both of you, guys. i just started using live so i have enough other stuff to deal with first before i would try to dig into python. i will try the following option: - mapping of all relevant effects title bars to buttons for controlling with the apc's track controls. - some effect paramete...
