Re: Pitch shifter for vocals.
Yeah the live set rinsed my laptop as well. I'm usually surprised when a demo set doesn't drive my computer to its knees. Also the poly vocoder couldn't find its own abstraction. The rest of the patches work alright though.

Re: Pitch shifter for vocals.
Yeah. Alright I reckon. Haven't compared it with the big boy software. My laptop isn't hefty enough to support the higher quality algorithms... so it's a bit coloured compared to some helicon hardware I've got access to.

Re: Novation Launchpad Pro
I think the launchpad pro is great. got one a couple of weeks ago. why i like it: I'm not a keyboard player, I'm a really basic guitar player, but guitar is my noodling instrument of choice. the combination of velocity sensitivity and rows which increment in 4ths really works for me. I owned the 1st...

Re: Midi with randomized instruments
the random velocity method would work with individual midi notes. M4l is a superior solution though.chapelier fou wrote:good suggestions, but if i may emit a critic, they all have a rhythmical approach. There is no way to trigger the randomness at each midi note. Again m4l.

Re: Midi with randomized instruments
If you've got suite 9. Lfo device set to random controlling the chain selector. If you've got standard you could achieve something similar by setting the velocity device to random and then making the chains selectable by velocity. You'd have to manage the velocity for each chain at the start of it r...

Re: Scrubber M4L device now publicly available.
I want to make this device work with my blingy new launchpad pro. So far I've got it to send the live object id for the control surface to a copy of the launchpad handling patch that I've called LaunchpadPro Handling. In theory, the patch is so modular that if I get the handler to work then everythi...

Re: use Ableton on laptop as a synth module
have all your synths in a rack as parallel chains. use the chain selector to select each chain. create as many clips as there are synths or bpms. create clip automation on the chain selector parameter to select the synth you want. see the bpm on the scene launch. consider automating chain off for th...

Re: recording 'live' - continuous drum loop plus lead
at its simplest: in session view with two midi tracks. track 1 drag a drum rack from the library. create a clip on this track to play the drum rack. switch looping on. put notes in the clip track 2 drag a synth lead from the library switch record arm on. press record on the transport. start the drum...

could you set the clips' launch mode to toggle and press both clips at the same time?

Re: Is a push necessary to learn live 9?
get the cheapest thing you can find that has the ability to be midi mapped to live devices and lets you tap in midi notes. once you've had that for 4 months or so you'll get a better understanding of whether Push is worth it for the way you play. I managed for ages with a Korg padkontrol and nanokon...

Re: Round Robin in Sampler?
In max you'd convert note ins to bangs and use a counter object to cycle 1 to 10. You could then use a select object to fire a bang when it got a 10 in its input. This bang could fire a note out. Maybe this would in a chain with a sampler that's got a random assortment of bellows samples.

Re: Looping in Ableton with an MPK25
map a key to session record, or clip launch on a record armed midi track. get a click on. press record/launch. get tapping. press record/launch again to close the loop. might be easier to do in two passes. or start recording a clip, get tapping. stop recording the clip and then sort out the loop poi...

Experiment with adding warp markers to lock clip events to the master time.
