Re: New Windows install on new hard drive: best way to migrate?

I Know the support team to be very helpful with your licences. However moving files will mean a fair few hours I expect ( I've had this problem a couple of times with a lap top or two, one total black screen event in which I was forced to do several OS re boots). My addvice if you can is to remove y...

Re: pop at 8 bars why

I had this issue not so long ago, It took me ages, to sort out, I will have a dig through my posts for the reply, but in the end it was to do with some hidden automation on one of my racks, a "Crossing point" where a few devices had to kick in at once, it can also happen when you have flat...

Re: Map yellow x/y circle to a touch pad

It may be relevant or not, but as a feature of racking in Live, I would love the x/y pad to be available so you can x/y map any contol, via the rack, or multiple map via highlight in the drop down menu, like Peter Dines 'Freshmaker' in Reaktor. This could make things interesting for me and get a bit...

Re: launchpad driver problem

I've been reading the reply's to this original post, and the only thing I can think, that is happening, is your confused as to what doe's what in your daw preferences, 8O or even perhaps on your entire system, though I don't really beleive this  so you will have to try and explain your steps, ...

Re: Overdubbing Automation In Arrangement View

Hi Ben, I used to get confused with that also, but acctually it's simple. When you wnat to record automation onto a track (i.e overdub automation). you de-select any/all your track record buttons, go back to the start of where you want to start recording automation. hit record on the main transport ...

Re: Speedsteping...For multi core cpu's

I read about disabling speedstep a few months ago...i tried to disable it in my laptop (dell studio 1537 with win) and the cpu usage increased...i had to enable it again. Is that, in general you noticed a bit of a rise but it stoped flicking from low to high, or it's both, no change and higher usea...

Re: Is anyone else MASSIVELY excited to see Avatar?

3d movies make me sick. I didn't know this was 3d either. Now I'm less excited, but I wasn't planning on going to the theater to see it anyway. Both versions are available. 3D and 2D. This has been the issue, Cameron or (the franchise) has spent a fortune, getting the 3D players into the cinemas, s...

Freeze/Copy and Paste.

I like to chuck this idea in and will continue to do so as I think it's really helpful and I use it all the time now, with almost no issues. Some Vsti's wont respond to this gesture, but on the whole they do. Did you know you can, freeze a midi track. sellect a clip from that track, choose copy, mov...

Speedsteping...For multi core cpu's

Thought I would start a thread about Speestep for multi core processors. I've been optimising a new Laptop Dell XPS M1530 for Ableton etc. and finding a workaround for a CPU spike issue that's been naging me for a week. Along the way, I found an article about Speedsteping, which shows up failry obvi...

Re: Ridiculous CPU Spikes

Hi Just wrote this, hope it's helpful, even for a seasoned pro. http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=131768 also, have you disabled, speedsteping for your Processor in BIOS under performance settings, I found this quite helpful, for lessening the ON/OFF cpu spike that sometimes shows it'...

Solved. Took me a fair few day's, but I found out the offending item. This may help other members out so I will post this over on any simillar threads I can see. This is what I found. I looked down the list of my tracks in Arrangement view as I have many times before, and looked at all the ones with...

Re: launchpad driver problem

ASIO Launchpad or Novation driver. Is U/S it's not an installed component of Launchpad.

I'm surpized Ableton even allowed you to do it.

You should have your 'Echo Audio - Asio' soundcard selected in Abletons audio preferences.

and Launchpad as controller and control surface etc.
